I live in a noisy neighborhood and my walls are extremely thin which is especially annoying at night. Right now I run the fan at night but don't really want to use the fan all winter. Any suggestions? Do they make white noise machines here?

It can be difficult, honking horns, late night drunks yelling, the early egg man in the morning and even the "I buy TV's and gold teeth" man, that one really cracked us up!

I like this time of year cause it's cool enough now to close the windows. Otherwise I always listen to music to drown out excess noise, getting yourself a decent sound system may help.

I also have an air purifier, that when turned on high, makes as much noise as a fan.

In the past I've used the cooking vent but now use earplugs. Problem is to find ones that are soft and small enough to use while lying on pillows....mine are made by Rexall.

I swear by earplugs. Wax ones cut all noise out but each pair don't last long. There are some foams ones that can be washed and reused a few times.

Any idea where I can buy good earplugs in Seoul--a shop or a Korean website? I'm on my last pack of Hearos earplugs from the States. They're great, but they don't deliver to Korea. Tried on the earplugstore.com website, but got rejected! Sad

I know this doesn't help you, but i have nice thick concrete walls and double glazed windows. It's a tomb when my windows are closed

bandi and lunis sells a 3 pack of orange foam ear plugs for 1800W. A pair usually lasts me a few weeks.
They do pretty good except for very loud noises, sirens, alarm clock, etc.

which really you want. If its too good, you won't get up in the morning.

Ear plugs don't work for me. I've tried them at jjimjilbangs and they just fall out or are uncomfortable. Bummer.

you have to actually put them in your ears.
roll the foam up so its very narrow push it in and hold it while it expands. It'll lock into your ear quite well. I find they only start to fall out when they're getting a little old. The foam isn't as strong, its a sign you should change them.
