Teach privates on the side to the salarymen's kids. Dont' blame the OP for trying to make connections especially with the economy in the perverbial drain.

Did you at least wear a tie? |
Yeah and I just talked to him again a few days ago. Said he was out in Cali and wants to hire me. Will call me next week. I'm also interviewing next Tuesday for a gig as a detention officer at our local sheriff's department. |

| Got a big interview tomorrow with a Korean manager at Kia Motors here in Georgia. I'm applying for a supervisor position of the janitorial staff. A friend of my wife in her Korean church connected me with this guy. My wife says it's a Korean custom to wear a tie during the interview. I think this is probably true, but normally, I just wear dress pants and a tucked in polo for interviews. Anyone ever hear this about Korean job interviews? |
This is the best job you can go for at the moment? |

He told me about the salary during the interview and it makes a good bit more than teaching ESL considering the current conversion rate. That is only for the first two months as well. He said if I do good during the 2 month 'testing period', my salary will be near $3,000 a month. Not too bad at all for an entry level job in this economy. Also said I will have potential to move up the corporate ladder once the new branch in Atlanta is established. |

Yes... the local sheriff will say "Ken, give me the keys... I see Bigfoot in the cell with a Buddhist monk... you should sell them some insurance." |

Yes, they send me to detention officer school in another city...at least that's what the front desk workers told me. Had my interview...went pretty good. Because of my former newspaper job, I already know the sheriff and listed the city manager as one of my references. Also wrote an article about a year ago about the guy who interviewed me ironically enough. This one should be in the bag. |

| I used to work as a janitor at Dofasco steel in Hamilton. I worked with the walking wounded mostly Italians and Yugoslavian. The job was dead easy. Some of these old guys used to get really upset if you didn't wash the mop. |

Yes, I wore a tie.
Well, I never got those jobs. But am about to secure a news reporting position at a big paper. So I guess everything works out for a reason. My journalism degree is about to be put to good use. |

Remember: Once a teacher always a teacher. Hold that chin of yours high, and teach all those ignorant Americans that they are not the center of the universe anymore. You posses some worldly experiences, and so dont let it go to waste whatever you do. Good luck and keep hitting that pavement. Something will unfold for you sooner or later. |
