So Halle Berry's "mixed-ness" is what makes her so attractive and exotic to people. Meanwhile, I get blank stares when I ask if they know who Rain Pryor is, lol.

I tend not to know or care about celebrities ethnic backgrounds, but I have a few mixed friends. Two are Korean-German. One looks mostly Korean, and is pretty cute, the other looks more Latino oddly enough, and is appealing despite his looks rather than because of them.

What is true is that people tend to find what they see around them most of the time attractive, so a person from Korea would tend to find Asians more attractive, while a person from downtown Vancouver might have a much broader notion of beauty.

I'm not sure I agree with this. How do you explain the numerous people who seek out someone of different races for partners? "Exotic-looking" women/men are often revered as being more desirable than the girl next door...

Exoticness are attractive, but if being exotic was the key thing we looked at Playboy would be entirely ethnic rather than the home of blond bitties with big....

I think most people chase what they think just might be better than them selves. We idolize things to a degree (in the west it seems to be ..well what I stated earlier), things we think are a symbol of something or some sort of idea of health.

But ya, being different is a key to filling in the blanks or flaws that we ourselves have. It can also be a way to bring needed change to the gene pool.

But I think those of us who seek something different than we are accustom to...to the degree that folks like myself and my wife have are a pretty big minority. It has taken American TV how long to make mixed couples on TV? And how much longer till they stopped making an issue of it?

The number of ethnic people in most western countries outnumbers the number of ethnic people on TV.

You of course know what I was referring as "single enthnic background"
Without this "pure", there is no mixed, why bother posting a title as "who is the hottest mixed" instead of " who is the hottest human" Wink

As previously mentioned the popular combination: white men + Asian women. Their interattraction obviously comes from their desire to mate with another (single)ethnicity, but not the desire to make mixed babies.

To judge if mixed people is more attractive than people with single ethnic background, the only way is to see how successfully the mixed people mate.

To your surprise, mixed people tend NOT to mate with mixed people but people with single ethnic background ( reference available later).

I heard even in the U.S, the country with the most diverse population, you still have to be very competitive to marry a blonde woman. Cool Cool

The whole point of the thread was because people feel the need to place other in boxes of ethnicity....which seems to include you.

If it weren't for folks like you, then I suppose I could label my thread otherwise.

The guys who mate with Asian ladies are an extreme minority. I know it doesn't look like it here...but who the hell else are we supposed to date?

The US is a diverse place...yet only 4% of the population is Asian and only about 12% is considered black....so the majority of people are indeed white. But the blond thing is a little bizarre as so few women are really blond.

Now if you had actually looked at the city I mentioned...Vancouver, you might have noticed that Asians make up roughly 20% of the population (about 10% of Canada's population is Asian). I dated several Asian women before coming to Korea. While I admit, I was racist and kept thinking about them being different from my ideal blond type (can't help that...half my family is the Scandinavian blond type), they did open the door for my current condition. Now I can't see myself being so boring as not to have a mixed family (as if it wasn't mixed before...now I just went and took another step out on the mixed limb). Mixed marriages are far more common in Canada than in Korea...and way more common in mixed cities like Toronto or Vancouver. Again, people who travel a lot and love abroad also tend to have much higher instances of inter ethnic marriages...cause we get used to different appearances.

On a side note this ideal of blond beauty is another story...yet it is still derived from something within the society not from outside.

Mixed people tend to date whomever they please...they mix either sides, but are not suddendly restricted to only other equally mixed people....cause that would be like saying they have become another race rather than a mixed one (which is wack as shite)....If the lack of mixed folks being presented here is any indication...it would seem that still most people are choosing to stick within their own groups making mixed folks the true minority.

I honestly don't know why you would feel the need to have come on this thread, been a douche and actually stated you thought pure ethnicity was the best...I made no such comparison.

I think her mixed ethnicity makes her easier to like because she is no longer as extreme.

Honest, I still don't see really black women as attractive as fairer skinned ladies like Halle...racist I know, but honest. Often attractive mixed people offer a middle ground that sheltered folks like myself can feel more easily attracted to...with just a hint of exotic...not a whole heap of it.

Maria Ozawa is a good example of that...the Japanese guys like her becuase she has the right mix of Japanese with an exotic mix of something else.

True though some mixed people can look a little odd, as if they had two extremes mashed together. Devon is kind of like that, either exotic and sexy...or strange.

Sometimes I think Hollywood could make a huge and rapid change in our society if they would stop trying to show what they tought people wanted to see, and just showed people in a realistic way.

Devon Aoki could get roles that have nothing to do with her ethnicity and Will Smith could have a white girl friend for once.

Wow, you've obviously put a lot of thought into this issue. While I'll admit that you do see a lot of "western"-looking people in North American media, I don't think it's representative of how people really feel. That's like saying there are only two sides to American politics. Yes, there's the Dems and the Reps, but you and I both know there's a whole lot of gray area in politics...

My point being, social pressures make the media toe the racial line, but that does not mean that it's what people really want to see - they've just been programmed to like the blond, red-fingernailed girl next door. Given the chance and opportunity to mingle freely with all kinds of different racial backgrounds - such as Vcr or T.O., as you mentioned - opens up a world of curiosities and interests that wouldn't have been explored or even entertained by Bobby Joe on the farm in Montana... How can any well-traveled red-blooded man not be allured by the charms of an exotic, "different-from-me", sexually attractive woman?

Just sayin'...

I dont usually reply a thread more than 3 times except it is my own.
It is very obvious you were so easily irritated when other people didnt agree with you and you started to insult people.

I laughed my a$$ off you said you posted this thread because of people like me~!!!!!!! everyone knows what mixed-blood" means, does that make everyone a racist, a fascist or an idiot?

How much you know about me, you dont even know I am woman or man, black or white...........I am Asian, female, all guys I dated in Korea are white and very likely I am going to have mixed babies myself in the future, I should kill myself or my bf if I insisted being pure. did I even say a single word in my posts that people should be pure blood? Call others name after you are sure youself is not a DOUCHE.

I'm not insulting you my friend. I have insulted your words. It was you who felt the need to say you liked single ethnicities on a thread talking about mixed beauty. I don't get it...why be a douche?

Asfor the rest of what you wrote....I don't really understand what your point is.

Yes....I think too much some times....arghhhh, even on threads I start just for a laugh...and of course lovely hot ladies (I'm going through a mixed girl faze at the moment...

I agree with your post, good points, but I'm still not sold on exoticness being more important than being similar...but then we are all different, so hard to argue this.
