Hi,

So, My bittorrent ports are randomly being blocked, it must be by my isp as I have no firewall and it's not even going through a router.

I'm going to cancel with sk because of this.

Do KT do the same thing?

You could still be going through a central router in your building.

I've been blocked before by KT and SK.

When I used Hanaro in an apartment building it was completely open. Great downloading.

Now I'm with LGpowercom and they're blocking me. They sent out the "expert" engineer and he was clueless.

Seriously, if you get any Korean IT guy who knows how to forward ports on any given router, give me his number!! That guy is gold dust!!

I know I need to forward the port on my router; it's a buffalo airstation, but I can't see on the advanced options where to set the port to forward. Could somebody give me some advice?

I've found in the last few months that occasionally, my ports have been blocked. Tried various ports from 6000 - 40000 or so and large ranges were blocked. Then, suddenly, they weren't. It's all working fine again now.
I don't know who my ISP is sorry so can't help you with that question.

As far as forwarding ports, have you tried http://portforward.com/ ? The site has a walk through for forwarding a lot of routers. However, if you can't even get your ports open without the router, well, you might be stuffed.

I tried a few times. I get to a certain point but always get beaten by the static IP bit. I can't seem to get to the page on the router where you have to make a static IP. I think the ISP have maybe code-protected it.

Plus, I'm useless with routers!!

Anyway, I can download fine, but I don't get nearly as many connections in utorrent as I would with an open router. But it works well enough so that I can't be bothered to jump through the hoops to forward a port.

I did it without a static ip, all you have to do is choose a port to forward. I think you can find a guide for your own router on that portforward website.

Also, in utorrent, if you are getting slow upload speeds you can go to options, preferences, bittorrent and choose protocol encryption (outgoing): forced and deselect allow incoming legacy connections (thus allowing for total encryption. My upload speeds instantly went from 6kb/s to 1M/s.

My router is a korean router, and I have no idea WHERE their IP is at all, let alone if they have any service in English. When I first got my program, downloading was fine. Now, not so much. The person before me said that they did it all without a static IP. How did you manage to do this? Any help would be appreciated.

I just set the super dmz to the mac address on my main computer, that basically means everything is let in or out. While 'dangerous' the fact my router won't screw up my speed or latency is worth much more to me than getting a virus. If your router doesn't have a super dmz mode then you'll have to create a dmz via a static ip.

BTW what's so difficult about creating a static IP address? Just go into TCP/IP properties and pick one. You're router will prolly be something like 192.168.1.x (x is any number you pick for your ip). If you need to find your dns server run>cmd>ipconfig /all

Go into 제어판 not sure of English word, it's at Start Menu then the one to open System, Network, Printer stuff. In there is a folder called Network Connections. Is there a file called Local PCI Ethernet ... Click that and then the left button in the box and unclick Microsoft Netwok File and Printer Stuff.
This is what chokes the ports on my SK for p2p. When they're open the network is pretty fast.

What about KT and XBOX Live. I tried plugging it in to the wall, I tried buying a router. The router gives an internet connection to my computer, but not to XBOX Live.
