Hi all,

This is the situation I am in at the moment. I am leaving Australia in 30 days to visit Seoul for 4 weeks. My girlfriend teaches English from 2pm - 12am, so I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what I can do for those lonesome hours. Keeping in mind I speak no Korean.....

Or alternatively, if there is anyone in Seoul who would like to show me around Seoul while she is at work? That would be very helpful too....

If anoyone could help me I would reallt appreciate it!

Cheers,

Cheyne

When you get to Seoul, let me know.
I live close to Seoul and have a bit of spare time right now.
I enjoy wandering around and seeing the sights.
Be willing to show you the sights.

Batman,

Mate, that would be awesome.

I arrive on the 20th of March which is a Saturday so during the week I would love for you to show me some cool stuff.

Maybe drink some soju?

Which country are you from?

Cheers,

Cheyne

I'd show you some things for an evening. Check out the palaces, museums, shopping, etc. I really like the historical sites.

I think you should ask a poster named Seoultrader to act as a guide for you Laughing

Why is that squid?

Will Seoultrader lead me on to wierd and dangerous places?

Or will he get me plastered on Soju and start singing at the singing rooms?

Either way would be ken shibs...

I am from Canada.
Been in Korea for the last four years and have spent quite a bit of time wandering around Seoul.
Enjoying the palaces, museums and other sites of interest.
Have to warn you that, when I walk, I tend to go for several hours at a time non-stop.
I also tend to talk a lot as I walk.
Soju is fine, but I prefer vodka.
Look forward to meeting you.

Very Happy

Seoul is pretty easy to get around with zero Korean skills. Get your GF to show you how to use the subway (buy a ticket, enter/exit, find your transfer exits, etc). After that it's pretty smooth sailing. There are lots of Starbucks and "point 'n' dine" places to eat, especially around the downtown core. You can kill a lot of time visiting museums (the war museum, the modern art gallery, etc), checking out the department stores, etc. Since you have a GF you won't be doing any girl watching...

Any idea what subway station you'll be near?

Dude I am not too sure which station is closest... All I know is she lives in Ilsan....I have no idea where that is.

I have heard that the subway is pretty easy to navigate, but I guess time will tell.

What about pubs....can anyone recommend a pub near Ilsan that is good?
