I was wondering, what are the risks of buying either one of those on a site like Gmarket? I'm really worried about getting some chinese knock-off.

My SHE9850s are from earphoneshop.co.kr and are the real deal. I don't know if they're popular enough for Chinese knock-offs to have been made yet, unlike the Sennheiser 300 series earbuds which are almost all knock-offs in Korea.

How do you like them?

They're great. At low volumes they've got a cleaner sound than my Sennheiser hd490s that I've been using to mix music for the last ten years. The bass and treble are a bit weaker at high volumes, but that's to be expected for single-driver earbuds, and especially compared to a full-sized set of open-ear headphones.

I decided on the SHE-9850's. They got very good reviews. Even though the Ultimate Ears Super.fi 3's are a little bit more, I don't like the Super.fi's over ear design.

Also, the SHE-9850's look awesome.

They do look really nice. The reviews I have read have been good, not great. I was going to get them from the earphone shop, but I think I will wait for the Klipsch S4s when I go back home. Something better in that price range will probably be out by then.

The earbuds are saving my sanity today. The school has decided to go at the front steps with a concrete saw and couple of jackhammers, while I mostly desk warm a few meters away on my two-class Friday. The isolation is bang-on.

Get the Apple IEMs.

The reviews all around say they are pretty good for the price. Much better than the stock headphones that come with iPods.

I think Klipsch makes a version of the Image S4 with a microphone.

Thanks for the recommendations, gentlemen.
@ Underwaterbob: Cant seem to scare up link for the Image S4i within Korea (checked headphone shop/ earphone shop/ auction/ gmarket/ danawa/ enuri). If you can, please throw it up.

@pkang: According the the Apple store webpage, the ADDEIMs (Apple Dual Driver IEMs) aren't compatible w. the 3rd gen touch, only second gen so thats a bust too.

Really trying to aviod ending up w. the SkullCandy Full Metal Jackets :/
