Have to wonder if a hagwon would have done that? How about your pension, FTUK, did you get that squared away?

I agree in principal, but in some cases one is left with little choice.

No Brits don't get the pension back as we dont have a mutual agreement with Sout Korea so their citizens dont get thei N.i payments refunded. So basically the temporary expat worker loses out and the respective govts get the benefits....

Actually, Brits, in fact, DO get their pension back, just not in a lump sum as Americanadians. Brits have their Korean pension monies transferred to their British pension system, and they collect it when they retire.

No, don't ask me the procedure. I'm not a Brit.

Since November, I've not done a days work here in Saudi Arabia. All on full pay, this is the best 'job' I've ever had. Laughing

I may start work next semester e.g. mid Feb.

They were probably expecting you do to some sort of 'prep', the poor fools.

What's your monthly pay over there?

I agree, why is goon-yang posting in the KOREAN job forums? Mods, please tell whoever called goon-yang an 'attention beep' off, that's clearly offensive.

Honestly, asylum seeker, they've expected us to do nothing at all.

Originally, I was offered a job here in Medina for 3000 dollars a month, that fell through due to incompetence on behalf of the recruiter.

I was then offered a job in Medina through another company for 2000 dollars a month. The only thing I pay for is food/living costs. I live in a hotel, accommodation, bills, everything else is payed for. I'm saving a high proportion of my salary.

At the end of this contract, I intend to get a direct hire from the university, which will offer a similar salary to the original job offer i.e. 3000 dollars a month. Laughing

If this happened to you in Korea, we'd never hear the end of the "racism" of Koreans and how they lied and ripped you off. But since it's your fellow Muslims, I guess they are getting a pass. Rolling Eyes

Tut tut! I am a fair-minded person. The initial job offer fell through due to incompetence on behalf of my British recruiter's Saudi contact.

The next job offer, the one I accepted was through a different Saudi company.

There were also other people that missed out on the first job offer due to incompetence.

So there! I would never be unfair! Laughing Laughing Laughing

Sadly this is not quite accurate.... it is said (officially) that Brits can transfer this...my mta etried it and found out the complicated reason why it is unlikely. Can't recall exact details but she was told it involves applying for financial records of payments made in Korea WHEN you get to pension age. So I guess it is possible if you can call in Korean in XXX years from now and they can find the info and send it etc.

I am a Brit, so would be happy to be told of another way!
