I hope that was sarcasm.

It's a cultural thing.

Yeah, right. Until she loses her temper and tries to cut your manparts off with a rusty pair of scissors.

Thai women are dangerous if you anger them. Same with women from Myanmar. I met another poster on here, and his friend, for lunch once. The guy was divorced from one of these women. She used to get angry and beat him with the spike from her stilletto shoe. He has a scar on his arm in the shape of a stiletto heal point to prove it. Hilarious to see, but sad.

What's your point? In the 1990's, there was an American woman who used a steak knife to cut off her husband's gochu. However, no one thinks that all American women do this.

I could be wrong, but it seems to me that your poster friend married someone with a lot of emotional problems. Frankly, I just do not see this as being a typical problem of Thai women. This leads me to think that perhaps this lady was originally a bar girl.

Thai girls are extremely attractive - I have Asian fever - but Thailand is an astonishingly mean and vulgar culture, and I would hesitate to date a Thai girl as such.

Reputation for prostitution? Thai gals? Not has much as korean gals!
Look at all the massage joints throughout korea! Red light districts! Barber shops fronting as prostitution! Why do you think it's so difficult for a single korean female to get a visa to the U.S.? You can go to any major city in the U.S. or Canada and you will find dozens of korean massage joints!

I read in the paper a while back that
there are 2 million women working in the adult entertainment industry in korea. from cafes to movies to full blown hookers you name it..

how you like them apples?

Is this like when Korean people say that Suwon is famous for beef or something?

I've never been to Thailand, but I like the Thai stewardesses United Airlines uses for the Seoul-Tokyo flights. They're so much better than the big girls United uses on the Tokyo-America flights.

What's up with (the majority of) Korean guys never wanting to date foreign women? All the threads are all about K-girls; what about K-guys. I wanna hear some stories!

One of my old fashioned Korean friends told I would make an excellent wife for a First Son= Very Happy Shocked Not sure if that was a compliment or a curse

Koean Men do lead the pack when comes to marrying outside their race or ethnicity but seems to me that traditionaly the daughter in law played a very important role in the in law's family (She would take care of her husband's elderly parents) A lot of k guys who are farmers seem to be marrying a lot of women from the Phillis and Vietnam

For myself I have gone out on a few dates with Korean men but I guess I never met that one guy who I had a lot in common with.

I've dated two Thai girls and both came with a ton of baggage. While there were great things about them... very polite, willing to help with anything, supportive, sexy, dependable, trustworth... the list goes on. The underlying thing was they were high maintenance. They fall in love at the drop of a dime. They are ALL about their family. Their families are typically very judgmental and don't often like her being with a "white guy". The only life they seem to have is to be lived for someone else... no independance at all.

I could go on but to be honest. Thai girls aren't that much different than any other culture. Every culture has it's positives and negatives and there are good and bad girls in every culture.

My two cents.

Your chances of getting run over by a pink bus are greater than actually meeting a Thai Guy who knows much about Mauy Thai (being a little sarcastic of course). I trained in Mauy Thai and lived in Thailand for a year, dated a Thai girl, and was well connected with multitudes of guys who were also dating Thai girls so I feel I'm as qualified as anyone to comment.
First off if you like a little cleavage you're out of luck. Thai gals are flat as pancakes, statistically speaking. If you snag a Isaan gal who has a little, scratch that - A LOT of Cambodian in her then she might have more than the average Thai gal.
Speaking from experience and more supporting commentary from my sexpat friends who eventually married a normal Thai woman, hooker or not - it's all about money. First off if she's a rural gal -it'll be the family cow dying. Then it will be a pair of glasses or something else (Thai women never ask for breast implants so don't get yur hopes up). In Thai culture a woman is socially judged by the amount of cash she can flash and that of course comes from you. Forget about dating or marrying the higher class, Chinese -Thai women because like Koreans they are shunned to date outside of their race. If you turn her down she pouts and considers it a loss of face and for those who aren't familiar with this concept as it relates to Thai's - never make them lose face. Of all my friends who married a Thai gal, most of them were not remarkably enthusiastic about their experiences and drank a lot, complaining about problems with family, either requests for money or being refferred to as "The farang" for about 10 years running after the marriage. Casually dating guys fared no better as the ability to flash money around is paramount to the relationship, the expat guy eventually feels he's simply paying too much for too little. And to reitterate a previous poster, Thai gals generally come with a host of emotional baggage, which often commenplace within their own culture to be ignored, can cause major issues when involving a western boyfriend who doesn't understand the schizophrenic mechanizations of Thai culture. I would reccomend for anyone to go to Thailand and work for a year and get it out of their system, then come back and shout from the rooftops about how great Thai women are.

edit - Oh and for anyone who might ever consider dating with a Thai and possibly open to marriage I would ask you to consider the "Bride Price". Your SO wont spring that one on you until less than a week before the ceremony and of course after all the money has been spent on the wedding. You might have to head back to Korea for 3-4 years and save to cover that one.
