Nightmare before Christmas, this was way before it became popular with the emo kids...
Anything that dealt with ninja turtles. I was a serious tomboy and I wanted to be Leonardo.

Oh man - THE GOONIES!!

One of the BEST EVER adventure films ever made.

Also ah, my mind isn't working, what was the name of that film where a kind of hobbit / midget guy overthrows the evil queen... lots of magic and swoord fighting etc... that was GREAT!

Also - Gremlins! So original at the time with amazing special effects!

The Never Ending Story, so enchanting, along with THE LABYRINTH...

Those kind of films engrossed me so utterly that I felt transported.

Karate Kid 1 was good.

Back to the Future / Teen Wolf, nice M.J Fox pair.

I think you might mean Willow, with the hobbit-esque person overthrowing the queen.....lots of magic etc. Val Kilmer was in it to. I think I included it in my original post.

The Goonies terrified me as a child.

Yes, Willow!

My whole family loved that film and re-watched it together many times.

I'm hung up on the part of the thread where I would have to still enjoy them today.

Rewatched The Last Unicorn a couple years back. Oh my god!! The music! Hahaha! It was still fun to watch but oh. my. god. I think I'll leave the rest of my childhood memories alone without interference from my culturally-informed adult opinions. Smile

Lady and the Tramp would probably still hold up, anyway. That was one of my watch over and over movies. Rockadoodle, not so sure. Funny thread.

Goones, Neverending Story, Willow and Labyrinth all still stand up as an adult.

Goonies and Stand by Me are classics. I wanted to show my students the Goonies but way too much swearing etc. My Girl brings back memories of a simpler life.

Silver Bullet is awesome and I'll be rewatching Firestarter this Saturday.

Blue Lagoon and the Pirate Movie had that boy with beautiful blond curls. Yummy! Better than Brad Pitt anyday.

Smoky and the Bandit and the Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

Cheech and Chong was a big hit at family gathering but us kids didn't really understand most of it. I think we laughed more at the adults, who were laughing so hard they were crying, than at the movie.
