First, the movie: Paranormal Activity is well worth watching, and this thing was made for a paltry $15,000. Amazing what can be done with a miniscule budget and a solid script.

Second, the inquiry: has anyone ever experienced anything remotely spooky in Korea or elsewhere? Just wondering, cuz I love this stuff.

And if this is already a thread, I apologize.

For a movie that is only an hour and a half, it DRAAAAAAGGED on.

The only parts worth watching are the night scenes when the couple is sleeping.

Before any new age type nutters chime in, let's just clear up one fact. Ghosts do NOT exist. I can't believe how many educated people from advanced nations think this crap is true.

I dunno that there is anything to it, but I had something genuinely creepy happen when I was in high school.

One of my teachers decided to tell us about the house that he used to live in, and had to move out of because it was "haunted" Rolling Eyes He told us a good story, about cold spots in the house, doors that swung shut for no reason and lights that perpetually flickered over the stairs. He told us how the toddler that lived there had fallen down the stairs and broken his neck, and how the child's mother hung herself on the light fixture in the stairwell.

We all took it with a huge grain of salt, and decided to use it to scare the bejesus out of a friend of ours who was a notorious chicken. So we told him the story, and embellished liberally, then steamrolled him into coming with us to check the place out one night.

The house was run down, having been empty for years, so when we heard noises from it, we assumed it was just a bunch of teens who'd broken in and were having a few beer. I saw a light burning in what I thought was an upstairs window, but didn't say anything. When we got bored and left we continued to terrorise my friend. I mentioned the light I'd seen, but no one else had seen it. I figured it had just been a reflection from a car or a street light or something.

We went back the next day to investigate, and discovered that all the windows were boarded up, and looked as though they had been for some time. There probably is a reasonable explanation, but I don't happen to know what it is.

Ehhh. Iffy movie at best. Kept waiting for the scary parts to happen that never came. I think the comments by the boyfriend were the only good things about the movie. The end I could see coming a mile away.

I'm just wondering if you watched this movie in a theater or if you watched it from the comfort of your home. Movies like this require the almost overpowering experience of watching it with a large crowd of like minded individuals. I found Blair Witch terrifying in the theater and laughable at home, which may be the same thing you experienced.

The final five seconds were a little hokey, but the filmmakers' ability to create suspense is undeniable. Apparently the director took a year to prep his own house as the set, and then shot the entire thing in 7 days.

I saw it in the theater. I love horror/suspense movies, and just imho, it didn't even come close to the hype.

yeah it was a little draggy, it could have been cut by 10-15 mins. However those night scenes were creepy as hell.

I absolutely loved it. My only complaint is the very very final thing (the monster face). They should've done something different, although I'm not sure what.

The ouija board scene - perfect.

If the Blair Witch Project hadn't been done already, it would have had a far bigger impact.

It's a great example of film making on a budget. But I imagine that 15k includes post and the cost of buying the cam (5k).
Film could have been made for a few hundred...

Prove that ghosts do not exist.

I'm not saying they do exist or not. But can you prove they they do NOT exist?

I've seen Edgar Winter in concert, does that count?
