SKorean woman passes driver's exam on 950th try
A woman in South Korea who tried to pass the written exam for a driver's license with near-daily attempts since April 2005 has finally succeeded on her 950th time. The aspiring driver spent more than 5 million won ($4,200) in application fees, but until now had failed to score the minimum 60 out of a possible 100 points needed to get behind the wheel for a driving test.

It's revealing to know that in Korea, some people will drive 60% as good as they possibly can only 1/950th of the time.
I give her 3 days before she wrecks and dies. |

What is really sad...is that she now takes the driving test....she is an accident waiting to happen....if she cant even pass a simple written test after 10 times, let alone 900 times.in the government officials infident wisdomthey are really idiots for even allowing her to try to get a license. It just goes to show you the mentality of some folksI seriously doubt that if this were in another countryshe would not get approve after X amount of times. |

She can't read very well.
Doesn't mean she can't drive. |

I agree that the reason she probably failed so often was b/c she's poor, old, and illiterate, not necessarily that she can't drive. She sells vegetables for a living in Jeollabuk-do, it's entirely possible that she, like other older people we read about every now and again, never learned how to read.
That said, shouldn't there be a limit . . . like, if you fail the test 10 times . . . or 200 times, you don't get to take it anymore? |

From what I've heard, the written test is insanely hard and most people fail on the first try. |

she just passed the written test! it took her 950 tries..
I wonder how many times it will take to pass the driving test! or even if she ever will.. then again she might already know how to drive...
anyway I will give her an A for dedication.. she went everyday! she was determined to get it.. thats a reward of its own right there...
good on her... |

I passed the written test first time ...but failed the inside course test 3 times. When the computer says you've gone over your point deduction allotment. you have to stop and exit the car immediately. Then comes the walk of shame back to the start of the course where others are waiting their turn. |
