| Anybody know? If it is permitted, what are the restrictions, if any? |

| You need a tutoring licence to teach private legally. You will not get one on a student visa. |

Yes, there is a special exception for students.
They are the one enigma.
I don't know what the terms are. |

Just assume that you can.
I remember in Taiwan that students were allowed to teach privately a certain number of hours per week. Something like 16 hours. Not that anyone is counting and that they really care about private tutoring in Taiwan. Even though it is illegal there, too.

| Last I knew, full-time students were allowed to tutor a certain number of hours per week at a certain rate... not sure about the details, though. |

Yeah, I've heard that, too. Anyways, who cares? If it's just private tutoring and not teaching at a place of business or whatever, no biggie. Even then... I really don't think there's a witch hunt going on. |

Yes. Foreign students on a student visa can legally work in any professor for up to 20 hours per week.
We just did this research for a student from Germany who wants to do an internship at Costco. |

A student visa allows 20 hours per week during school and full time during school breaks. There are limitations on the type of jobs that can be performed, but teaching would not be affected. |

You can work with a work permit on a student visa. It's unclear whether this includes privates. |
