Backpacking trip from Oct 1st to the 3rd. The destination is Daebu Island and Jaebu Island. You can check out the itinerary below and let me know if you're interested. You can contact me at 010 5382 8228 or just email me.
If interested, call me at 010 5382 8228
Day One
My co-worker and I are going to arrive in Oido around 9pm tomorrow (Thursday) and eat dinner/check out the place. People that finish work late will join us around 12, which is when we will start our hike across the wave blockade (bridge) that crosses the bay and into Daebu Island. This will be about a 3 hour hike. Once we are in Daebu Island, it will be about 3am and we will stay at a hostel till next morning.
Day Two
Breakfast and head south-east of the island towards Jaebu Island (6-7 hour hike) through villages, farms and mountains. Once we get to Jaebu Island, we will seek out a place to stay for the night and then head out to a clam bake place for food and drinks.
Day Three
Head back up to Seoul. Most likely we will need to hike to the closest bus station.
This is our first trip to Daebu and Jaebu Island, but we're not hiking blind. Its going to be a lot of fun and probably a new experience for all of us... so if you and your friends, or if its just you its fine, want to join us please do! The more the merrier!
Things you'll need to make sure to bring:
Backpack
Extra clothing (socks!!!)
Extra pair of shoes (it may rain a little)
Poncho
snacks
My friend and I are going to take an MRE (Meals Ready to Eat) each, if you want one, let me know asap cause I'm going to go buy them right after work today. 010 5382 8228
Flashlight/flashers
Sleeping bag (just in case)
Toiletries
This is a light backpacking trip and I have several years of experience hiking the backcountry in the states. So if you're up for it, let me know asap so we can adjust the schedule as needed.
Hope you'll join! |

Heading OUT of Seoul on a national holiday? Thanks, but no thanks. Pack some sandwiches for the drives down and back.
Best times of the year to stay in Seoul are Chusok and New Years! |

actually the only type of transportation we will be taking is the subway. We will be starting from Oido Station and trekking the rest of the trip... so I don't think traffic will be much of a problem... especially in that area. |

Definatly DeokJeok-Do! We just did a bike trailer camping weekend there and it was fantastic. We took the 50 minute express ferry from Incheon. We then rode our bikes counter clockwise around the island. The bike trailer and seriously hard hills made for a great workout but the distance was not too bad. We then camped at Batjireum Beach in the pine trees.
If you are hiking, get off at the pier, walk CLOCKWISE around the island for about 4 km and you would be there. It's actually a beatiful part of the island. There is a lot of hiking available too. |
