FYI, I've noticed that Lotte Department Store's (gag) 8gb price at Nowon was 300,000 last night. That's cheaper than I paid at Costco 2 months ago. They had 32gb and 64gb models, if I was reading the chart right. Not sure about 16gb... probably.

Check out a Lotte Dept. store. (never thought I'd say that!)

Wow, i thought they'd be cheaper than that, that works out at about 160 when they're 130 at the moment in the UK, seems im going to have to get something sorted before i leave.

Is there any update on the iPhone farce, because that greatly affects things. Is it a definite that a foreigner would be able to get a contract for one?

I've seen all of the recent updates linked about the I-phone on here...

Yeah, it's quite a bit cheaper to buy your I-pod overseas.

Is there any chance you know about this?

I read in another thread about a NET complaining that foreigners only get given contracts for the crap phones, i cant see why this would be, but i havent actually been to Korea so dont know how backwards it reputedly is sometimes.

This isn't true, unless the AMOLED the guy at the SK Telecom store was trying to sell me is a crap phone. I mean, for the price, it is, but Koreans consider it one of the top phones right now.

If I order a phone from America can a friend mail it to me as a gift, it would be cheaper this way than buying it in Korea.

I'm going to take a stab at this being a QUESTION about the iTouch.

Your friend would have to insure it with the courier for less than 100 dollars, and remove all traces of it being brand new. Otherwise, you'll be paying when it arrives at customs.
