|
|
I've just bought a Korean xbox and when i try to connect to Live it says i have to update. However, when i say yes updates it won't update. I have plenty of memory so it is not a memory issue and the xbox is connected to the internet.
I have checked the Korean xbox website and it says that downloads are a little slow in Korea currently but surely this would'nt stop the download.
Any advice would be grand.
Thanks |

I too am in the same boat as well as a few others. I got the rrod so sent my box to microsoft korea and received a replacement.
I bought a game the other day and want to play it with the cheat codes but the codes say I must first update to the october 31 2008 update.
plugged in and update keeps failing. I searched the web for hours and found a download of the update.
burned it to cd and put on my usb but both refused to work.
put it on my laptop but could not connect. went to the store and bought something called a crossover wire then followed all internet instructions carefully but no go.
if anyone knows how to make it update please let me know before I throw it on the ground and jump up and down on it for an hour |

lemonhead, yesterday morning I downloaded a file called system update fall 08.
I burned it to disc and put on usb but it wouldn't work.
last night I downloaded a file called system update fall 09. I burned it to disc and popped it in the box and it began an update right away.
5 minutes later I had no problem connecting to xbox live.
if you pm me your address I can send the file to you. |

How to install:
1.) Extract the contents of SystemUpdate_Fall09_8955.zip
2.) Put the $SystemUpdate folder in the root of a CD or USB Stick
3.) Insert that CD or USB Stick into your Xbox 360 console.(360 SHOULD BE OFF YOU MUST BOOT FROM OFF)
4.) You will be automatically prompted to update. Hit yes!
5.) Once the update is complete. Your Xbox 360 will restart then boot up to the new dashboard. Enjoy!
*If you use a USB, must be formatted to fat32. USB worked for me. |

| Uh thanks for your help, but the link you gave is a pdf file. There is nothing to extract, really weird. I'll try searching myself. |

| Ok so someone sent me the file, thanks. Unfortunately the file attached was simply a bmp file. Anyway I copy/pasted the file name and did a search and lo and behold I got the file. I put it on a usb, plugged it into my xbox, and started it. It updated just fine. THEN I went to connect it the net and it connected fine. Then it said that a "game update" was available and so I went to download that but once again I got the "couldn't connect message" again. But I then noice that parts of Xbox live was unavailable due to maitenance, so I'm hoping all will be fine later when I try it. |

| Ok so I was successful in getting my system updated, as it does sign me in to Xbox live. However I keep getting the message "Some Xbox live content is unavailable" which I have gotten before when they have done legitimate work, but I had this since yesterday morning. The thing is that when I put a game in, it says there is an update for that game and when I go to do the update it ONCE AGAIN says that "unable to connect" which is really pissing me off. |

I found a video on youtube that illustrates the EXACT same problem I'm having. It is SO frustrating because I AM connected but cannot access marketplace or do any game updates. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

it was me who sent the bitmap. now after installing the update I have the exact same problem you do.
does anyone know a solution to this?
I just noticed a few minutes ago that my date and time were wrong on my machine.
I manually corrected but I thought live was supposed to do that.
now I don't have internet so I can't check to see if that fixed the problem |

| Hmm, I haven't checked the date/time but I will. This is beyond frustrating, paying for a service but unable to use it. I wish there was some simple way to get online or some magic "reset" button. I've tried the clearing the cache by going on the hard drive and clearing cache but even that doesn't work. |

| Yeah the date and time were screwed up offline so I set them correctly. When I connected to Live the date and time were fine. Still get that damn error, rendering my Xbox live virtually useless. |

A friend linked me to a troubleshooting solution from Xbox live but all it says is that there might be a marketplace data error and to clear the cache which I've done several times now. Still a no go getting it to work. Very frustrating. |
