- even to yourself? go on, admit it. I have, once, under my breath. Why? because i'd just arrived here to a new job and free accomodation, with no more than 30.000 won to my name...
But thats the only time!!!!

I haven't BUT when i get bouts of homesickness I miss Korea, not the States. How f'cked up is that??

So i've come pretty close (missing korea, wishing i was there) but not quite at the "i love korea" level. Perhaps missing it is going beyond the love thing, i don't know

I've never said I love or hate Korea. I love certain things about Korea and I hate certain things about Korea.

Most times I taste the food and every time I offer to pick up the tab at a Korean restaurant after a huge feast for five with drinks.

On every warm day in March and October.

On every weekly walk along the beach.

Whenever I want to check my email, like now!

Just got back from a trip to Switzerland where I paid 5,000 for a large diet Coke at Mc D's and 50,000 for a 1 hour train ride. What do you think I said when I stepped off the plane at Incheon???

Yes. The first time was the first time I got back my 100 won coin after returning a locker key. WOW! The machines at home would have just gobbled it up.

A trifle, yes, but strangely touching.

Sure, on a few occassions.
One time that sticks out in my mind was when I was shopping at the Lotte Department Store in Seomyeon.
My wife and I were looking at some rings and I was in the midst of haggling with the sales clerk.
After renegotiating the price a little, I said "And what about the 'I love Korea' discount"?
The sales clerk laughed a little and dropped the price some more.

Whatever works, I suppose...
