I don't dislike many things, but the "WOOOO YEAAAH!!!" call heard at any rowdy drunk public or college gathering is really annoying to me.
Boom boom bass played in residential areas at night annoys me too. |

4. Public schools insisting that we all descended from frogs and call it "science".
5. And in society in general.... It is acceptable to put "damn" after God but it causes hysteria to praise God. Likewise to express the name of Jesus Christ in a blasphemous way is ok but people throw a hissy if His name is actually praised.
I don't ever plan on living there again. |
Idiot Christians, who think a 2,000 year old book is the unquestionable word of the one true god but refuse to practice any of the "turning of the cheek" or "loving thy neighbors" forgiveness and understanding BS. |
Even though I'm not Christian, I love how anti-religion folks back home, without any (perceived) understanding of the bible or Christianity, wonder why Christians aren't "forgiving" or "understanding". What you're wondering is why Christians can't just accept homosexuality, evolution, and abortion, right? Right.
Don't get me wrong, Christians want the same thing (in terms of people sharing their beliefs), but I just don't like how the other side labels the religious: unforgiving, etc. |
Good observation
hateful.....translation - does not support gay marriage
unforgiving ....translation - doesn't support abortion
Cariie Prejean is a stupid bitch.....translation - She dared to give an honest answer to a loaded question.
Stupid, redneck......translation - doesn't tow far leftist party line |
Hateful....translation - I hate those queers and those foreigners!
unforgiving...translation - picks and chooses who they can forgive. Bush for starting 2 wars? No problem! Clinton for Lewinsky? BURN HIM!!!!
Cariie Prejean is a stupid bitch...translation - well, she is, and it has nothing to do with the way she answered her question.
There are more than 2 sides. |
So could you please list the reasons you think Carrie is a stupid bitch OTHER than those having to do with her response to Perez's question? I'll be waiting with a list of well known women with similar issues so you can add them to your categorization. |

Tea Parties
Keith Olbermann
Glenn Beck
All extremist media on either side of the fence
Republicans
Democrats
Libertarians and their stupid, stupid ideas.
Anti-vacc crowd
Growing ignorance
Now, things I Like about America because I bitch too much about the things I don't like when I'm actually there:
Gay marriage growing acceptance in numerous states
Beautiful women of all nations in the same place
Cheese, Dairy products, all at reasonable prices and high quality! OH MY GOD, I miss real cheddar
Large expanses of forest
Burning Man (Yeah, I'm a hippie, wanna fight about it? Is there a point to that?)
Gee, all my good things are kinda shallow, except the gay marriage. Maybe I don't like much about America. Oh, right, it's Canada I like better due to the actual shame I feel about my country since learning about it's history from start to present. I forget that sometimes. |

Honestly, I'm not really for or against gay marriage one way or the other, but why is it so important? Unless of course you are gay. |

There are plenty of people and causes to have empathy for it just amazes me why this one seems to trump all others with some people. Poor children born addicted to drugs? Nope, gay marriage. |

Ah, I see what you mean. I thought you meant, why would straight people care AT ALL.
I really don't know why people in the States make it as big of a deal as they do. Big mistake to question it, though, I've found. If you try to even play it down, you get labeled as some hateful, intolerant jackass. I personally feel, like you, that there are much more worthwhile causes: overfishing, destruction of habitat, green building, all that environmental stuff. |

Again, I am not saying she is stupid for disagreeing with gay marriage. She is stupid for posing nearly nude. She is stupid for making a sex tape. She is stupid for skipping out on her obligations.
All this and her claim of being a Christian. Yes, Christians are humans and make mistakes, but if you are going to get on a pedestal and preach, you better damn well make sure you are living the way you talk.
Personally I can give an aats rass about her.
Here is what one man had to say about her.
Quote: |
Keith Lewis, the openly gay executive director of Miss California USA and Miss California Teen USA, also released a statement on the interview[the one in which Cariie walk out of in the middle with Larry King]. "The public is finally getting a glimpse of the real Carrie Prejean who lives in her own delusional world," he said. "The childish behavior, her negative attitude, the sarcasm and condescending tone, the disrespect and continual lying she is demonstrating now is only a fraction of what we endured during her reign and after." |

Newsflash! Pretty little starlets like beauty pageant contestants can exhibit childish behavior, negative attitudes, and condescending tones. Never dated a cheerleader huh? I can understand the stupid angle trust me but I think the bitch connotation just reeks of smoldering aminosity for someone who dared say anything adverse about gays or their desire to marry. I can't really say that about someone like say Pamela Anderson, who I think stupid might apply but to go so far as to say she's a bitch. I dunno, if I met her she might be a perfectly nice, agreeable gal. Same goes for Carrie. |

1. My way or the highway political culture- Stuff like smoking bans, abortion (which I'm strongly against, but come on settle that state by state), gun laws (don't ban, but no one needs a fully automatic rifle/submachine gun), etc.
People who will only eat pizza and hamburgers and never any vegetables. People who only eat sun-dried tomato balsamic vinaigrette sea salt.
Everyone has to be independent and unique.
The national attention span is all of 2 seconds.
Sorry but America could use a little less of the critical and a little more of the thinking in critical thinking.
No-Go zones. The lack of safety late at night.
The level of ignorance concerning History, Literature, and Geography. When playing categories in "Ring of Fire/King's Cup" you have to dumb it down so much- Beer Brands and Car Brands.
Bumper Stickers.
A school curriculum that thinks teaching 'Heather has Two Mommies' is more important than 2+2=4 and History. No one can celebrate Halloween, Valentine's Day or Christmas anymore in the schools.
As another poster said- People believing that a bad attitude is the key to success. The media does not help in this.
People who freak-out someone says something that doesn't follow the left-wing line on abortion, stem-cells, evolution, or gay marriage. I personally lean libertarian on these, but people on the left are so nasty about these things. People on the right can be obnoxious, but they are seldom nasty.
Chain restaurants- The Olive Garden, Applebee's, Outback, Red Lobster, Pizza Hut, Domino's, Papa John's, KFC, and Macaroni Grille are just atrocious food.
Having every sporting even dissolve into some moment where a mentally challenged/handicapped person get some medal for walking/rolling up to the free-throw line and making a basket after 10 tries.
Having everyone be so crass and cynical that they can't appreciate the above for the beautiful moment it is. Stupid dichotomies.
People having a real disdain for rural people. The constant ripping on 'rednecks'. Sorry, but most of those people are smarter than you. If you actually had to grow your own food or fix your own heater you'd suddenly feel how dumb you are.
People constantly living their lives in anger at some slight of their parents- They refuse to wear suits or ties because mom made them wear one to grandma's funeral. They refuse to bathe because mom made them bathe. They refuse too eat vegetables or guzzle a gallon of pop because mom made them eat healthy. They have irrational hatred of religion because they were dragged to church. They have refuse to discipline children because they were spanked once and it was worse than the Holocaust.
The Don't Tread on Me Culture. If someone feels slightly dissed its reason enough to kill someone. |

Dang Steelrails, with that one post I say you've vaulted yourself to the top few people on this forum with any common sense in my book. Good observations. I second them all. |

My sister is a lesbian. I have multiple friends who are gay and just want to be married but can't because of some one elses problem screwing up their lives. So yeah, if you don't live in a bubble, it might just affect you. Whodathunk. |

Well your post on page 2 was plenty good on the inspiration. Heck, half of it I feel I lifted from yours. |
