| I bought the Academy kit. It took a day to put it together. It looks awesome with all the decals on it. I think I'll get a mustange next. |

I just downloaded the free print and play game called Canvas Eagles, 1914-1918. WW1 air combat miniature game.
Now I am trying to find some good WW1 models. I am thinking of using some paper cut and fold models.
Will let you know how things progress. |

| No need for a Mustang Model. Mustangs were mass produced Spitfires, they even had a rolls royce engine in them. |

+1 on the La-5. Ivan Kozhedub's preferred plane until he stepped up to the La-7, which he downed a ME-262 in.
How did the Academy kit turn out? I did a Revell Spitfire Mk. 1 back in the states earlier this year. Fit and Finish and Materials were pretty poor, but I didn't expect much.
For British planes- The Westland Whirlwind was a good looking machine, if only it had Merlins instead of Peregrines.
For models I've always liked twin-engine planes. The Amiot 354 and Ki-46 Dinah were really beautiful machines. |

Academy models are pretty good. Sometimes it hard to get that pieces to fit together properly that's when some tape or elastic bands comes in handy. If you take your time and don't rush it you should get something that looks as good as the picture on the box. Getting the decals right can make or break it. Just use tweasers soak it and take your time. I have quite a collection of Napolionic era soldiers in both metal and plastic too. |

I'd bet your talent is better now then it was before. As a child I managed to botch snap-tite models.
But I got into model airplanes last year and my first one (the Spit) turned out pretty well. I didn't smear the glue. I didn't break anything. The paint job turned out nicely.
I guess over the years my fine muscle hand-eye coordination has improved, as well as my patience and mental understanding.
Give er a try, hopefully you have the space. Startup costs aren't too bad for a low level model. It's a great, peaceful way to spend an evening. |

As a kid I always botched them up so bad. Smeared glue, unevan fits bad paint job wrong colors bits falling off. These days I take great pride in my ability to put decals on. Experts agree that model building can ward off the old age diseases of the mind like Aulzheimers. |

Boys, I'm telling you to get a hold of the new Academy f-15K SLAM .. its 1/48 the fitting is dead on and it comes with an impressive amount of weapons. Its a very big model.. the price is 22K ... well worth it.. I bought the Mig29- Fulcrum the other day... I'm just finishing up the F-16 from Academy.
God, being in Korea you can get the Academy products soooo cheap.. Loveee itt
You guys seen the new tamiya spitfire 1/32? damnnn its over 100 dollars but if youre a pro ... it looks like the kit for you... as for me... its out of my skill level
Ill be getting one of these for xmas ....

| Best airplane model ever was the F-104 Starfighter. I also liked the B-29 superfortress. Both really great airplanes. |
