Need a new comp and want to play new and older games on it. doesnt have to run the new games at the max settings, but would like something capable.

is this possible for 500-600,000WON? I already have a 20inch monitor

Very Happy

Easy.

I got an Asrock p43 mainboard (80K won).
Celeron e3200 2.4Mhz (65K)
2GB Samsung p6400 Ram (50K)
Nvidia 8800GS graphics (90K won) (no longer sold... Nvidia replaced it with 9600GT) (~110K)
Total = ~290 000 won. + power/case/ other small stuff (If you build it yourself)
Piece of crap, right?

Works beautifully on Modern Warfare 2 (35-40FPS) at 1680x1050 resolution. If it can run that, it can run anything you throw at it.

Ok, cue CL..."but it won't run Crysis at 60FPS...it's a POS!" Wink

You don't need a $2000+ computer to game. 90% of games work just fine with a "low-end" PC. Just make sure you have a reasonable graphics card. 8600GT (256MB) for older games and any 8800GS-GT/9600GT (512MB) is fine for recent games (sorry I don't do ATI so I don't know the models)

Sans monitor, this is one heck of a nice machine. the AMD 620 Propus chips are very cheap, but very fast. The "speed for a bargain" community is just gushing about them.

If this had been available last month, I probably would have gotten it over my i5 machine (although a bit slower, I would have saved 350,000 won).

I'd probably see if I could change the DDR3 memory from 1066 to 1333, given that it wouldn't cost much more.

Yeah, I did. A gaming PC and a 21.5 monitor for under 600,000. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

What are the specs? We'll decide if it is a gaming PC or not. Very Happy
