So today I went to get a haircut and I noticed they did not seem to clean any of the cutters after they had been used. The little cutter still had hair all over it when I got the haircut.

Is this normal in Korea?

It is where I get my haircut. I go to one of those "Blue Men's Hair Salon" or whatever it's called. They use dirty clippers. But, it's hard to beat 6,000 won for a haircut, and I have a really simple haircut so they don't normally screw it up. I just go home (though you can do it there) and give my hair a hardcore shampooing.

Yeah its 6,000 won, but it is worth risking getting some disease?

Yeah I have an easy haircut as well and went straight home to shampoo as well.

How much are places like Juno hair, do you think they clean the clippers?

I know, I know.... it's probably pretty bad... I guess I've gotten to apathetic. I should seek out something better.

Buy your own pair of clippers like me and do a number 8 the whole way around every two months. Then take a shower, blow it dry and put some pomade in it for a nice slick style! Free, simple, don't have to worry about paying for a haircut no matter how cheap they might be, or any of the other korean haircuts for that matter!

It is kind of funny that you are living in a country with very poor air quality, constant smoking, dangerous driving, ect ect...

....yet you are worried about hair clippers.

Methinks you are in for some real "stress" during your stay here.

Cut your own hair - problem solved - that's what I did. They never understand how you want it styled anyways. Better yet, shave it down to a 1 setting. Low maintenance.

A fancier hair salon should be better about that kind of stuff but they are more expensive (9000 where I live). I guess I never really paid attention if they cleaned the clipper or not but I never had any problems even when I went to dingy old-school barber shops ran by old men.
