The Vice Principal of a Seoul International School (can't remember which) is a certified nutritionist... has a PhD is it. She writes a column for the Korea Herald regularly. They print her email address, may be you can contact her.

She's the Vice-Principal at Seoul American Elementary School. She has a PhD, but not in nutrition.

PM me when you have a moment. I am a registered and licensed dietitian. I live in Incheon but make frequent trips to Seoul or can chat by phone.

Cheers,
Stan

Thanks Harpeau!

I should add that if you want a more clinical experience there are supposedly two English speaking registered dietitians working at a hospital in Seoul. The public relations director is a frequent poster here and goes by the name of Dr. Love. Do a search if you wish to contact him. However, I cannot vouch for their English abilities or background as I have not met them.

My sister in-law went for food tests at a Korean-medicine hospital place, and they told her what foods were good or bad for her body.
She neber stuck to the reccommendations, but said that her health would probably improve if she did! (Thiings like don't eat wheat/bread, etc.)

I love ginseng, but when my brother-in-law takes it, his whole body starts feeling uncomfortably warm/hot.

I would love to find get in touch with a good nutrionist who could help me know what to eat to help my body. Things like: can I digest white rice as easy as most Koreans or what foods prevent efficient digestion.

Currently I cannot charge due to my Visa status. Only as a point of reference, my fees in the States were $75/hr. for private consultation.

So we should wine and dine you for a consultation, then? heh. Laughing

Tsk! A glass of wine is forbidden. Three or four is a must for good health.

Kidding aside, I often do loose consultations with folks as a way of keeping my toes in the water. I also speak at English speaking schools on nutrition and the career field of dietetics. For this I only request a well written letter indicating what was provided and how it was received. for individuals this is also true. Covering of the small expenses associated with the lecture or consultation is appreciated.

What the hell does a nutritionist do? Tell you what to eat? Here's some advice, free of charge. Vegetables, fruits, grains, a little bit of meat but not too much. Exercise a lot....

Sounds like a crock of modedit to charge someone a lot of money to tell them what to eat. But if people are dumb enough to pay it, more power to them.

A quick google search tells me a nutritionist is just a dietitian without the degree...

About your last point, you are correct. If someone knows that that too much food can make you fat, they are a nutritionist. However, the rest of your uninformed post deserves no further response.
