When I click that link I get this:

"Warning: Visiting this site may harm your computer!
The website at www.koreaherald.co.kr contains elements from the site loger.heraldbiz.com, which appears to host malware software that can hurt your computer or otherwise operate without your consent. Just visiting a site that contains malware can infect your computer."

What's up with that?

Korean sites are often flagged incorrectly by google and malware reporting sites. It is bloody annoying. If you try to search on google a lot of results often come up with that warning and yet I've never had a problem with any sites. Google wonders why they can't get any real market share here..

Here's a better write-up from the koreatimes:

English Teachers Establish Labor Union in Incheon

Presumably, to join, you would have to work for the hagwon in question.

The Korea Times also has an article. It is all on topic until this:

Quote:
A total of 22,905 foreign nationals are here on E-2 English teaching visas as of Oct. 31 this year, according to the Ministry of Justice. Of them, 134 overstayed their visa, the ministry said.

What is the point of putting that in? It would also have been nice if they stated that peoples visas ended the last day of work catching some (probably 134) off guard.

News papers sometimes have random semi-related facts at the ends of articles. It used to be quite common for Canadian news papers to randomly put in the US exchange rate on any article about the US even if there was no mention of money in the article.

Like the backlash against AES, I think these are postive steps for native teachers. Apparently in this case the law is clearly on the side of the teachers with respect to the union.
