|
|
So I'm having big issues with youtube on my mac and I think it has to do with flashplayer, and/or the upgrade to snowleopard, since I don't remember this being an issue prior to the upgrade.
Anyway, when watching, or trying to watch, youtube videos I often lose the ability to control the video; stop, pause etc. When I try I get the right click options.
I have downloaded and reinstalled flashplayer several times, to only find the issue persists. There is some other function or website that makes me think this is flashplayer related, but right now I don't remember what it is.
Thoughts? suggestions? anyone have the same problem? |

I've downloaded the updates every time, so it's the always been the most recent verson: Adobe Flash Player version 10.0.42.34 that would be the most recent update.
playing anything in flash format, from youtube to music files, to other flash files be they video, music etc. Youtube is the big pain, but I listen to a lot of CBC files and they more often than not will not load, or I can start them but can't pause or stop once they begin.
No idea what's going on, but it did start with snowleopard. |

My friend, then it's your hardware.
THAT'S WHAT YOU GET FOR BUYING A MAC!

Upgraded to Snow Leopard and haven't had this problem. So guess you're wrong. |

Yeah, it's not a hardware problem. It's some sort of screw up on the installation.
That said, I have found a way around it, I am now using my Beta copy of Chrome for Mac. I hadn't installed it when I got it for testing. But it runs so much faster than either of my mozila browsers(camino and FF), and the flash issue hasn't surfaced yet.
Rather than a hardware issue, I think it's a mozilla issue. I contacted someone I know at Adobe, and he also thinks that it might be a mozilla issue, but they haven't had any real problem notifications. |

I have the same issue, albeit intermittently, with YouTube. It usually remedies itself when I reload the page.
I'll send some feedback to Apple and Adobe as well. Doubt it'll do anything but it can't hurt.
I have a question. Do you guys and girls read my posts in Arnold's voice? Because if you do, that is absolutely fantastic.

yeah, Youtube is the biggest culprit, but I find many media files have the problem--- reloading was helping a bit, but not nearly as much as I would have liked, since the problem often persisted.
But Chrome does fix it or rather doesn't experience the problem, so whenever google gets around to making Chrome publicly available you can get it and be rid of this issue. |

my apologies. It is publicly available now! I didn't even get an email notice about....
Anyway, it's a very nice browser and for speed alone it beats the Mozilla browsers.
And, no, I don;t work for google. Or Mac. |
