Hi

My school in Gwanak-gu... has gone belly up.

Anyone know any school that is worth working for. At all. Does anyone work for a school in seoul which is hiring... this really sucks. Been dealt one piece of bad news on top of another lately, could use a bit of good fortune.

If you can help, that would be fantastic.

Please pm or reply to the post.

Hmm

You could use a bit more brain power and move that hand to the top of the web page and click on the link called "Korean Jobs". You can even pick up a phone and call some recruiters. For goodness sakes you are on Daves ESL cafe. Dave makes money by advertising for Korean schools looking for teachers.

Heck look a little bit harder and "Post You Resume" on Dave's ESL cafe. You will have recruiters and schools calling you offering you jobs. Amazing

How the heck did you get you last job. Did your mommy send the resume and all that for you.

Hell I am lazy. It took me a few months to find an ok job. But you should a bit more initiative.

But if you where looking for leads. Do most of the leg work yourself and research on them. Look at old ESL cafe posts. You will get an idea of what school is ok and which are to be avoided.

I don't think i'm willing to respond to the first post.

But there are a million hogwans in this city... and believe me im doing the leg work. Just want personal opinions on which are the best and worst to work for.

So if anyone knows, I would very much appreciate the help. If you don't... well fire away... i really could care less at the type of ignorance displayed by some people on this site.

Folks cut the guy some slack! According to his OP he's being having a run of bad luck lately and just wants a helping hand. Lots of people come on here looking for short cuts to info they could find themselves only it would take longer.

I'm gonna pm you about a school I know of that was loking for two teachers for March but I hope that lead hasn't gone cold.

I was just commenting that he is lacking on details. Where does he want to work? How long has he been in Korea?

Here is a question for people. I want a vehicle? Which one should I get? Confused

I am not adverse to helping. I understand and sympathize with people having difficulty with Hagwon hell. Heck I am having a hard time myself being fired, looking for a job, getting jerked around by my ex school, but this is not about me. This is about newfoundlander

So you want some advice?

Generally avoid chain schools like ECC, Ding Ding Dang, Wonderland. A few of the many are okay but most just end up bending you over and taking advantage of you.

Small schools can be great and some can be wonderful. Some will treat you like a king others will just do not know how to treat you.

If you get a recruiter get a recruiter that does business in the city you want to work in. And remember recruiters are in it for the money not for you.

If you want to save the hassels that come with recruiters. Do your own leg work. Call up schools. Acutally go to some in the area you want to work and ask if they are looking for anybody. Talk to waygooks hanging out at the bar.

Read the Forums a bit more. Get some EDJA MA KATION about Korea and jobs. Read some of the old post about Wonderland and ECC. Do what I do avoid the off topic forum. That just wastes time.

Post your resume on Dave's ESL cafe. You do not even have to post your resume. Just type some basic about yourself such as age, country of origin and how to contact you. Include a phone number. You will get emails and phone from recruiters and some schools looking for teachers.

You should have posted in the Job Wanted area. That is the best place to post for a Job Wanted. I myself would like to avoid the forum get clogged with. "I am looking for a Job in Pusan" OR "I want a University Job on the Coast".

If you school is bankrupt where are you living? How come you are still in country? Has your school let you go, fired you, canceled your contract.

Details!!!

So people (teachers, hagwons, recruiters) in Seoul. Are your schools looking for a teacher quickly - Newfoundlander is looking. Email him whoops no email. Private Message him then.

Skippy the Bastard Twisted Evil

Edited a bit because I heard he wants job in Seoul. I will admit I missed the city Seoul because he forgot to Capitalize it.
