Big Bird, you appear to be splitting hairs. The JFK and 9/11 threads are enormously complex, yet we are keeping it to one thread there. If anything, those issues deserve several threads each.

I never agreed with that idea (of amalgamating them) in the first place. Whenever I saw a JFK or 9/11 thread, I simply ignored them. It was very simple. If other people were excited about it, I didn't see why they shouldn't be allowed to chat about it. I found it boring, so I simply didn't bother to read them. But I didn't feel irritated that they existed.

And what about the hundreds of threads we had about the bloody US election? Should that have been one big thread? Although I found those discussions boring as hell, and avoided reading them, I didn't begrudge others chatting about something that clearly interested them.

The JFK and 9/11 stickies were placed there so people would know not to derail other threads with 'the real story' on JFK/9-11. The problem wasn't that there were too many threads on the issue, but that the proponents of 'the real story' were invading every thread with their story, requiring the rest of us to wrestle with their theories (or skip down 10 posts) in order to continue with the topic. Now that those stickies are up there, they no longer do this. So its a very happy ending for everyone.

But you could consolidate the health care and climate change threads and solve the problem there without having to make them stickies. I think Ya-Ta may want a climate change sticky because he regards climate change deniers as he does JFK and 9/11 'real truth' proponents, as fringe lunatics.

Isn't it ironic how he is insisting on a rational, scientific basis yet ignores that when it comes to the sticky issues?

Resurrection of the thread asking if there are not too many threads. Answer: nothing changes.
