I hope this is not violating the TOS, if so, please let me know and I will take it down.
As some fo you can probably tell by my avatars, I like art. Over the years I've amassed a collection of Fine Art images (almost all off wikipedia, and to the best of my knowledge, all are public domain) spanning the Renaissance through Academy Art. Included is some Far Eastern Art. De La Tour, Caravaggio, Morisot, Degas, Manet, Bouguereau, El Greco, Uemura Shoen, Shinsui Ito, and Elisabeth Vigee-Lebrun are featured.
This makes a wonderful screen saver as well as just something nice to look at. Always good for putting on in the background when company is over and every so often something will pop up and it will give people something to cluck over. Or you can use to be pretentious and show how cultured you are to all the visigoths out there.
Use it in your English Lessons (Check first for nudes). Show a painting have the kids write/talk about it. Also great for imparting some concepts of taste and critical thinking to the natives. "So Min-Soo, what is the artist's message?" Also good for distributing to colleagues (again, screen for nudes) Many a teacher out there likes art, famous art. Works as a good conversation starter with that shy, artsy, cute colleague.
There are so far about 870 paintings in here. No Picasso, No Dali, sorry. Most images are high-res, those that aren't are due to the difficulty in finding high-res versions.
The great thing about this is that it can serve as a building block for your own collection. Think my taste in art is largely trash? Great, just save what you like and discard the rest. Think my taste is alright, but its lacking something? Well add it in.
Apparently on the torrent there are some weird text files that accompany the images. Just download all, and then sort by type and delete all the texts.
Merry Christmas!

I'm leaving it on to seed right now. I have very poor grasp of torrents and everything, so I hope its seeding. Also, no viruses to my knowledge.
Please mods, I hope this is okay, but let me know if anything is amiss and I most certainly shall take care of it. |

Anyone try to download it?
I *think* I've been seeding it properly...I dunno, this is my first time making a torrent.
