I was under the impression that my Visa was a single entry Visa becaus we only coughed up $45 at the Consulate. When I got my ARC, something got fudged and they gave me back the $50 saying "You had too many stamps", which made me think I didn't get a Multiple Entry.

So I was going to swing by Immigration today an get an upgrade before vacation next month, but on my Visa it says "Entries: M" and it's circled. Does this mean I already have a multiple entry Visa?

Everyone on an E2 visa is on a single entery. It would cost 30,000 W for a one time leave or 50,000 won for a multi entery as much as you want.

You can always pay 50,000 for a one time fee every time you leave the country at an airport. But public schools and hogwans won't pay the extra money on your visa.

You can however when you pick up your visa pay the 50,000 there. They have a sheet on the counters that advertizes it.

It's not automatic, you still have to apply for it, the fee is waived though.

Sometimes it's automatic sometimes it isn't.. depends on the immigration officer.. I've only once had to ask for a multiple and I've had about 7 visas or so

I'm American and mine was a multiple entry visa also. Didn't realize it until the day before I was about to leave for the first time. I'm teaching in Daejeon if that has anything to do with it.

It shouldn't have anything to do with it, but it probably does =)

Yes, for UK passport holders the fee is not required. I have been told that 'M' is automatic but I always confirm as you never know with individual immigration officers.

When I was at orientation a few years ago for SMOE, many US passport holders said they had 'M' on their visa automatically without asking but some said they didn't.

I think the best thing to do is always ask, ask and ask.

I have Australian passport and had to go to immi and pay 50,000 to get the multiple. Apparantly only Americans and British get multiple straight away. If your running short of time you can always get a one of single re-entry permit at the immi office at the airport for 30,000.

Supposedly, Americans are automatically granted an 'M' the first time only. For my second visa I called up and the immigration officer in America confirmed that and said I would have to get in changed in Korea. I was quite annoyed about that.

Got my visa back and it was an 'M' again. Good ole immigration. No one has a clue what they're talking about.
