Yeah gbatemp has a ton of information on modding as does wiibrew.org
You need to get the SNES, NES, N64 emulators that can be found on wiibrew.org
Then you run them off of the wii homebrew channel...And you can get all of the games on torrent sites...as I have a 16GB Transcend card filled to 15GB worth of NES, SNES, N64 games.... |

| What do you have at this point? Is it modded at all or is fresh? What firmware are you on? Which region is it? |

| Is there a way to softmod a brand new wii that's unmodded? I just picked it up yesterday. I'm not sure which FW it has, but my friend did tell me he accidentally updated it (trying to find a virtual console game) while playing it when I was at work. Does Korea sell the Wii component cable as well? I don't like playing with the regular VGA that it came with since I'm playing it on my hdtv. Thanks |

I've got an extra component cable. I'll sell it to you cheap.
As for your first problem, go take it to Yongsan and have the guys who mod the Wii take a look. |

Where are you located? I'm currently in Bundang and am totally interested in purchasing your component cable. |

If you have Neogamma you may already be able to run off USB or SD card. Up the top of the Neogamma boot menu (for Rev. 6 onwards at least) there is an option to cycle between "Boot from DVD", "Mount USB", and "Mount SD Media". If you load up your USB (using WFBS Manager), you should be able to mount it without problems. If it isn't recognized try plugging it into the other USB slot.
If you have an older version, you could add the new one, buy putting it's boot.dol into a folder in the apps folder of your SD media card.
To upgrade your cIOS you want to get the boot.dol from the net, put it in a folder in the Apps folder on your SD media card and run if from the Homebrew Channel. Though when I did it it gave me an error trying to install just from the files on the card, so I went for a wifi installation (it's an option you get once you launch it from the HBC)

Neogamma r7 : http://www.wiikendhacks.com/2009/09/neogamma-r7.html
As for softmoding a fresh Wii, assuming you don't have the very latest firmware (4.2) it's apparently doable: http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-faqs-guides-tutorials-only/16970-new-3-1-4-1-softmod-any-wii.html
Oh, and WFBS Manager is a windows app, not something runs on the wii. |

I seriously need help people!!
I just got a modded wii (from a fellow Dave's member) that was in good working order, and a few hours after getting it I tried to play a new game I had downloaded and burned on a DVD, then when it asked me to update I stupidly pressed 'YES' and now when I hit the power button all I get is a greenish pixelated screen.
I have searched high and wide (including YOUTUBE) for what to do, but I'm not even sure it is really bricked (as most semi-bricked wiis still power up, and fully bricked ones are black screen)...
what can I do here guys, I'm dying people...help...I live in east Seoul and I'm willing to pay good money to fix this little guy.
Can it be done? If so how?
Any info appreciated

| ok so it seems they have changed it at yongsan to 3.2u....ive tried wad manager to get some VC games on there. at first i got ret - 1 error, but now that ive solved that, i get ret - 1029 when i try to install a WAD....any ideas??? this is my first attempt at doing something like this myself on the wii and its proving to be a bit annoying!! |

so i have a modded korean wii with homebrew channel and some other programs installed on there (open wii, soft chip loader, gamecube emulator). it has been changed to 3.2U. ive tried to install some VC games using wad manager (ive tried versions 1.3-1.5) but always get the -1029 error. after reading up about it, it seems this problem is caused by having cIOS 37 and it says to update.
now this is the first time i will have done this myself as the guy in the store did it for me last time. so i just want to make sure i have this right before i do anything
i use cIOS uninstaller or any title deleter to remove the cIOS on there right now (so delete IOS 249 right?).
then put the cIOS 38 rev 13b files on the sd card. go to homebrew channel and install it.
is that all right so far? im just a little worried that if i start messing about with the cIOS that new super mario will stop working....do you think that might happen?
then i saw the guide on afterdawn for installing a USB loader. says i need to install Hermes' IOS 222/223. do you think this might cause problems with the software on there at the minute?
sorry for all the questions, but this is my first time trying this and ive read that the korean wii can be the trickiest to mod. |
