I doubt if they'll pay enough to really get in the quality of people they need to get this test up to par, but I hope they do. Actually looks like a proper job; not an easy job, but a good one with long-term prospects. |

QUALIFICATIONS: Masters degree Strong writing skills Previous editing experience a plus, but not required
That in itself tells me that they aren't willing to pay top-dollar for anyone. I may be wrong, and probably am, but that is the impression I get. |

Depending on what you mean by long-term. The advertisement virtually insinuates that contract renewal is terminal at the end of year 6, which is something I have seen a lot at universities in Korea. |

What would the criteria be if they were willing to pay top dollar? |

Someone with an MA shouldn't take a job with only 4 weeks vacation unless it pays phenomenally well. |

They've posted this ad before, and there was a discussion about it then. I reckoned that they should pay at least 4 million a month, starting, seeing as how you'd be making the actual script for the TEPS (which, as PRagic pointed out, needs a lot of improvements). But another poster, KoreaAmbition, I think it was, reckoned they pay closer to 2.5. Seeing as how this is the second ad I've seen from them in the past 4 months or so, he might have been right. |

fustian,
Mine was just a guess. I personally know a guy working in the TEPS department making around the salary I quoted, but I'm not sure if this job ad is for the exact same position. (It sounds like it is though.)
However, they do offer housing...and if you are MARRIED and can get into the housing there, then it's a different story; it's big. If you had to rent the equivalent to that housing on your own, I think it would be close to 2 million won per month. The ad says "minimally furnished" but actually it's very nicely furnished and the housing is in great condition.
As well, if someone is looking to get that school's name on their resume, then I think it might be worth trying for the job.
I don't think the job is super appealing... but if you can tolerate the job, the other things are really good benefits. |

The ad is out there, but not on this board. Copy some of the text from the OP and do a Google search. Be sure to put the text in quotation marks. You will find the ad. |
