Korea pledged US$1,000,000 for Haiti. Divided by the population, i.e.

50,000,000 that works out to US$0.02/person.

Way to go guys! |

				I donated $30.00.

I think 5 million would be generous for Korea, and anything more would impress me. |

Hmmm, let me check. Last time I did I am pretty sure I wasn't the 12th

largest economy on earth.

I read China donated a million. And sent one team of rescuers (approx 9 guys.)

Let's face it, the Asians are some [Mod Edit racism and profanity].

And it's not just for Haiti. There was an article last year that ran in the Herald that noted that Koreans give the least to charity of any industrialized country based on the annual income of it's population. |

And white people like to donate $5, then spend $10 telling everyone they did.

There, that make you happy?

It's not racist to point out facts. They donate the least. The send little to nothing. And the ones that do have money, don't want to share it, even with their own people. That's called greed. |

But let's not say all people here are greedy. I am sure many people opened their wallets generously.

I must admit I didn't donate a cent for Katrina, the Pakistani earthquake, the Chinese one, or the Phuket Tsunami. I gave this time. Am I greedy too?

The 1 million that was donated is still a significant sum. Money doesn't just grow on trees.

What connection does Korea have to Haiti anyways? |

Good lord...they give its not enough....they do not they are bastards...nice.

By the way, this 1M is the FIRST donation...or the immediate help they pledge.

How much did you give people?

If the answer is nothing then you have no right to speak out on this issue. |

I think most people are intelligent enough to understand that if someone says "Koreans this, or Koreans that", they are not talking about every single Korean, but more likely the majority.

Say what you want, but it is very obvious that Koreans (majority) don't donate like the majority in my home country, and they don't come close to volunteering like people from where I'm from either. Just because the truth hurts, doesn't mean we shouldn't say it.

Look around, the majority of Koreans aren't raised with the same principles, values, and character as the majority of westerners. They just aren't, so why try to sugar-coat it.
