I just plugged my phone into the computer and I get a message about a 'Carrier Update'. Anyone know what this update entails? I hadn't sycned my iPhone in a while, so i'm not sure when this came out. My phone is jailbroken, so I am hesitant to apply the update without knowing more. |

Its nothing to worry about. It's just giving your phone more information to operate with your service provider better (in this case KTF). That's the explanation that i read online anyway. It's simply a file, it doesn't update your firmware/baseband, and doesn't affect a jailbreak.
Sometimes carrier updates are used to change a logo in carrier information, to add support for services such as MMS etc.
I have a jailbroken phone also, and i installed that update yesterday when I plugged my phone in and was alerted about it. Everything is still fine.
You can read about carrier updates being fine on jailbroken phones here:

Plugged it into my Mac and closed iTunes when it opened. Opened Blackra1n and clicked 'Make it Rain'. It rebooted and installed Rock. I didn't do anything special. I have rebooted my phone many times without incident, each time having to 'make it rain' to get it to boot again.
Not sure why it wouldn't be working for you. There isn't much you can do wrong. |

Please remember to go into your iPhone OS and change the password. There have been a lot of people forgetting to do that. |
