In Canada, bars close at 2, liquor stores at 11 (or 9)
In Korea, you can walk into a store at 5 in the morning, get a beer, whilst on the way to the next bar that you'll stay at until 8 that morning.

yet,

In Canada, you can go into a bank at any hour of the day or night, put your card into an ATM and get money, yet you lack a place to use it.
In Korea, the money stops at 10, despite its usage not ceasing.

an observation reached at 11:30 at night immediatley after spending my last thousand at a pc bong.

Actually, the time that bars close depends on the province you're in in Canada.

yeah those banking hours are ridiculous, machines need rest too i guess, have you ever been at one when it's clsong time? a loud alarm goes off, lights flash and i feared i might be locked inside the ATM> > >

but as far as the drinking hours, it seems so early whenever i go out now at 9 and finish at 3:30 or so, instead of starting at 11 and going home on the first subway Laughing

the other thing i find with korean banks is that when i'd go to pay a bill or something i have my card and bank book with me yet they make me go to the machine and hand cash over the counter! Confused however they don't charge any monthly fees and the only time they do charge fees for machine use(if you 've noticed) is outside banking hours> > >

i think the total lack of interac really helped me save some cash though, here i find it's the silent killer, just swipe your card and worry about the balance later > > >

I heard the dmb ATM hours were there to prevent guys spending all their money on hookers once they get drunk.

Apparently ATM access depending on bank though. My friends are always pissed with me for being a KBer, ATM service finishes around 11pm. duh.

another bar related difference is, if several drunken foreigners were pissed in your bar in CAN what would you do?

more times than not in korea the guy keeps it open until you leave and gives you free food and all due to the tiny bit of poor korean that spews out of you. . . Very Happy truly great! and other partons try and give you free shots and some beer!

imagine what most bar owners in North America would be doing if a few fellas who barely spoke english wouldn't get out of the bar! Laughing

After thinking long and hard about it...

and after experiencing some late-night alcohol service...

followed by lack of service at bank machines...

I've come to the conclusion that...

I spend too much on drinking late! It's a blessing in disguise. Stick to soju and save a bundle; go to the gym the next morning and conserve some brain cells.
