|

Hello,
I'm traveling from incheon to cebu on cathaypacific and have a 15 hour layover in hongkong(6pm-9am). Anyone have any ideas on what I should do in hongkong for that time? Any suggestions? Thanks! |

I just did that layover with Cathay...you can go into the city if you think you have the discipline to make it back in time for your flight.
The express train from the airport to central Hong Kong (i.e. shops, clubs and businesses) only takes about 20 minutes, but it stops at about 12:45am and starts up at about 5 or 6am I think.
There's plenty to do in Hong Kong for a night....but it will depend on what day your layover is. A Monday will certainly be less exciting than a Saturday. |

I'm assuming that you are checking your luggage through so don't need to worry about it while you are in HK.
Grab the bus (A21 (night N21)) from the main door of the airport to Nathan MRT station and hit the temple street night market and the jade markets. There are lots of night life places around there too if you want to sit, have a drink, a meal or just chill out for a bit.

Why not take Cebu Pacific to Cebu?
It's a heck of a lot cheaper and it'll be direct.

Sorry, not to be off-topic, but with regards to Cebu, I hope you plan on visiting Bohol. Cebu city and most of the rest of the island are in my opinion, bunk.
Bohol offers great diving, a relaxed atmosphere, less hassles, cleaner everything, ecological wonders and more. It's only a short ferry ride away.
I got out of Cebu as quickly as I could. It's just another big city with no soul that happens to be on an otherwise beautiful island.
With regard to HK, I second both the bus and train approaches. The bus will obviously be cheaper, but slightly longer in duration. HK is well-worth visiting, even if for only a few hours. Have a good journey~
P.S. Say 'hi' to all the pathetic ajossis whoring in Cebu for me |

I love Bohol a lot, but yes, Cebu is a pit.
It's good as a springboard into Bohol or other places. That's it.

thanks for the info guys! I'll probably take the bus into hong kong and wander around into the night.
As for cebu, I plan on taking the ferry to bohol once i get there. I have about 10 days in the philippines so I haven't completely decided what my plans are after bohol (any suggestions would be cool too!)
Once i get to cebu airport, finding the ferry to bohol should be no problem? So far the plan is to go to Loboc and stay at nuts huts a couple nights and then maybe find a place on panglao beach for a night or two. I'm thinking about going to princess puerto from there but i'm not really sure - it seems kind of far - what do you guys think? Any island recommendations for a chill traveler who isn't into the nightlife scene? |

Find a cheapy hotel in the causeway area, then have a look around central and/or wanchai, grab a bite, a drink or two, three, then some sleep. It's do-able in 15 hours. |

Once again, if you want the 15 hours in HK, then cool. If you want direct, Cebu Pacific is the way to go.
The ferry terminal is a good 30 minute taxi ride from the airport, but it won't cost much. Maybe 200 pesos.
Puerto Princessa is cool, so I heard, but you'll have to fly from Tagbiliran back to Manila, and then to Palawan. Palawan is huge and you won't be able to see much in 5 days or so.

I'd also recommend visiting Victoria Peak (highest point on Hong Kong island) for the view. |

The time is perfect for Temple Street Night Market too. But the area is a little dodgy. |
