So, apparently, since graduating I have (mostly) forgotten how to read. Or at least that's my excuse, because I don't know how to explain the predicaments I keep making for myself. =)
Anyway, I somehow only just noticed that we need x2 transcripts from all schools attended. This is lovely because I need to send in my documents soon, and I have attended (brace yourself) four institutions. (If you're curious: I attended community college AND a university while in high school, went to another university after high school, and then finally transferred the whole mess to the school I eventually graduated from.)
I'm just curious if anyone else has found themselves in this situation, or if there were any repercussions for not having all the transcripts for all institutions attended. I read in one thread that, at the consulate interview, their transcripts were opened before them and gone over line by line. I have no idea what happens to them when sent off to Korea -- perhaps to live in a desk, ignored and so hiding the fact that there should be other transcripts...
Thanks for reading this, and hope you have a great day. I'm off to learn how to read again. (And order a bunch of transcripts) |

same here. transferred in credits from 3 other schools. gave the main one to immi and they took it. I think they just need to verify the degree. hopefully this shouldn't be a problem if those credits are on your main transcript. |

Same here as well, I have credits transferred from three schools, guess it's not as rare as you thought? I got three copies of my transcripts from where I got my degree, and just one each from the others.
My transcripts from my degree issuing university have the courses transferred on them. My recruiter said that should be fine, and just to have one copy from each of the others to be on the safe side. |

i turned in transcripts from my two schools, and got the one back, unopened, from my first university. i would agree they only want a transcript from the school on your degree |

Heyyyy, nice to hear of other people with a crazy long list of transfers! I always avoided telling people how many schools I've been to since anything above two is met with just a bit too much incredulity.
I will email my recruiter asking for his opinion. He's pretty by-the-books, so I imagine his diagnosis will be along the lines x2 (at least x1) copies of my various transcripts. Especially because on my transcript, it only sums up how many credits I transferred from where. This is because at my school, you only receive general credit for non-major related classes (e.g. if you took a 200-lvl accounting class, but weren't an accounting major, you would get 2xx accounting credit). They do this so you don't have to waste an advisor's time transferring credits, so yeah. Anyway, I doubt this will be a big issue; it's just that one of my schools is overseas and I have to call them personally to order transcripts. And it sounds like the transcript probably won't be used!
Thanks for your thoughts!! Here is a nice Voltaire quote for your troubles -- "Appreciation is a wonderful thing: It makes what is excellent in others belong to us as well." |

i have transfer credits from the college near my home town and it's cleared written "transfer credits" on page one of my university transcripts
but it NEVER has been a problem (i only list the graduating uni on my resume and submit onoy those transcripts, but it's clearly written on page 1 'transfer credits')
i got work visas in 2002, 2006, 2009 with just the one transcript
of course, who knows about next time |

I went back and forth from university to university too. I only gave my school my diploma and transcripts from the university I graduated from. In fact that was the only school I even listed.
I think its a good idea not to give employers information they don't need to know or info thats irrelevant to the job. |

Glad to see this issue has been discussed here already.
I only have one other school in addition to the one I graduated from, but I only spent from August 2008 until December 2009 at said school of graduation. I probably wouldn't be too worried about this short time span on its own (you can't tell by looking at the diploma), but I just looked up the consul's checklist and found out that it asks for the date of entrance and the date of graduation for your school of graduation.
Anyone ever fill out a relatively short time span (1-2 years) for your school of graduation on a consul's checklist because of a late transfer? Is this likely to get misinterpreted as not having completed a four year degree program?
Also, I'm not sure if I should request the transcripts from my first university since it's from a different state and it would be a huge hassle if another state university's transcripts were to lead them to request an additional criminal background check from that other state. Do I have the right idea in holding back on the transcripts from this other school?
Thanks in advance for any thoughts on the subject. |

I guess that's why they want you to have a copy of each transcript at your consulate interview! Though whether they even look seems to be a coin toss. If you're curious, I'll try to remember to let you know how things go after my consulate interview this Tuesday.

This does sound a bit tricky. Are you using a recruiter you could ask? If not, perhaps you could post this question on Footprint Recruiting's forums, as a staff member usually answers the posts. Failing a helpful answer from there, you might try emailing other recruiting agencies, like Gone2Korea, as they are usually excellent about answering such questions. =) |
