|

I was recently confirmed for the CEPIK 6 month program in Chungnam, but am confused about a number of things as my recruiter doesn't have an abundance of answers at the moment.
1) Has anyone worked in this program before? What can be expected?
2) The contract. What is the settlement allowance? What are the entry and exit allowances? How soon are they paid after a teacher arrives?
3) Is anybody else out there planning on working in Chungnam later this month with CEPIK?
Any info would be great! |

I work under the CEPIK (or as I like to call it, septic) program. It's fine, same as EPIK, but they add an extra letter for no reason. I'm working a twelve month contract though; I doubt that you'd get severance because it's paid after a year, but aside from that I haven't had any problems. Like the general run of public school work here, a lot depends on what school you end up in-there's a world of difference between a technical high school and an academic one for example. |

I used TM English Go. I think they still have posts open. |

David how long did it take for the recruiter to find you a job?

About a month or so, I think. I was originally the victim of a bait and switch, and although I had been in contact with the recruiter for a couple of months, it was only after I explained this situation to her about the bait and switch that I got the job here. |

I don't think there is a website for CEPIK, at least I can't find one. I think you need to apply to CEPIK through a recruiter. |

'm waiting to hear back from them as well.
Is there a main office somewhere? My time line is really tight and I really want one of the 6 month jobs that have been posted. |

i saw a job post by "teachmeenglish". I've done a google search and she seemed to be the first one to post the jobs anywhere. Though another recruiter had something posted as well, I think.
Anyway, time is REALLY tight. I essentially need to hear back by friday. I'd be willing to go to interview any day. |

I was actually thinking that I/we may not be eligible when I saw this post a few days ago:
http://seoul.craigslist.co.kr/edu/1574897282.html
I was googling the way a recruiter had spelled it and that ad came up. Way more work than a normal PS job, but about the same as a hagwon. I doubt the bonus and airfare are included in the 6 month positions.
I need a 6 month contract and so my hands are tied and my options are limited. But time is so tight that it might simply not work out. |

Well if you are Korean American CEPIK doesn't want you. I just had the recruiter tell me that Chungnam POE rejected my application because I am not a foreigner AKA white. |

That sucks and is dumb. based on the link, though, maybe Black Leah is right as well. This seems like it's some sort of cost cutting thing if they're actually LOOKING for people who haven't even graduated.
Maybe this is how AES wants to improve english education? |
