So I asked my recruiter if they had either my co-teacher or the teacher that i'm replacing's email but she said she didn't. So i have no way to contact anyone about my apartment and what I might need to bring. So what is the typical size for beds? I'm sure this is different for different people but I'm hoping to figure which size people have on average and bring that...hopefully it works. |

From what I have seen there are many bed sizes that are non-standard here in Korea. I would suggest to bring a couple of flat sheets (which are bizarrely difficult to find here) then buy your fitted sheet and blanket here. Maybe bring a couple of pillowcases, since pink or hello kitty are the norm in local marts. Bring your favorite pillow too if you have room. |

VERY good question, OP. ASK for a larger bed. Koreans ASSUME you are like them- so thin you can almost see through them. Ask for a King or Queen -sized bed. I like "roll around' space, but I had to ask for a larger bed. |

My advice is: don't take a job if you have not spoken to anyone at the school. You may have far bigger problems then a bed size. |

I've been given a double-ish bed, or 3/4 bed as I like to call it. The same size I was always provided at University. So big enough for a 6' 1'' guy. The boss didn't think I'd be so tall though, and provided sheets that were too small, so took the effort to make a last minute run to get some new ones for me heh. Which still aren't wide enough for the bed but hey.
The material is weird... I remember it being mentioned in another thread, the strange fake, paint-smelling plasticky stuff. Meh, I won't diss it until I've tried it.
Can't be worse than my rose-red satin sheets I once bought. |

I was hired through the GEPIK head office so I figured it was the norm not to talk to the school. Is that not so? I have the school website though I don't speak Korean so it doesn't help me at all. Do you guys know of any other way to contact my co-teacher? I'm not too worried but it would be nice to start building a rapport with her plus get the dish on my apartment...hmm as for the bed issue I guess I'll just bring a queen sized flat sheet and call it a day. |

Ask for contact info for your school ASAP. Once you get to Korea, you'll deal with the school all of the time. |
