Just thought. I've been doing my visa, and I have been given a date for my passport to return, and my school booked flights for the 24th.

He noted, probably threateningly, but seemingly nonchalantly, that if I do not catch that flight, I will pay the fine.

Surely if I just... stop replying to emails, there's nothing they can do. They don't have any card details or anything.

Not that I would at all, I've been waiting months for this and the apocalypse won't stop me now. Though a late visa return will quite easily stop me. If the post is late, I will have to pay the aforementioned fine...

I have the same sort of problem. I have described it here: http://forums.eslcafe.com/korea/viewtopic.php?t=178073

There seems to be some redundancies in this process. Not that I expect government to run efficiently, but jeez. Although, I have not been threatened with fines, I do not expect the school owner to be very happy if I do not have the passport and miss the flight.

Well, I don't particularly mind if it *was* a threat - though that really would be jumping to immense conclusions since the guy's been nothing but cheerful. Even after the fact I was meant to be there mid-January but thanks to my useless university and what forth, it has been nothing but delayed.

But yeah, UK post isn't exactly the most reliable thing in the world. Which begs the question; why did I only today order a new digital camera online when there is absolutely no guarantee it will be here at the same time as me.

*sigh*

I'm just gonna sit here and watch the clock tick by. If neither post is here on Tuesday, I'm just gonna have to run and hide.
