I'd like to make a lasagna with my crockpot. I can't find the cheese I need at Home Plus. I live in Daegu and was wondering if anybody here knows a place where I can buy it.

I have seen both Ricotta and Parmesan (Parm is everywhere...green n white bottle? Kraft?) in Hyundai, Emart, Costco...many places. In Seoul, however. But cottage cheese remains elusive *sniff*

This first bit of info is very dated, but it might still be true. When I first lived here in '84, my wife and I ate at what I think (IIRC) was the Eighth Army Corps of Engineers. At that time, in any case, being a US passport holder, I was allowed in (things are probably very different nowadays). After dinner, I bought a quart of cottage cheese; unfortunately, it turned out to be rancid--it was a long time before my wife would trust me and try cottage cheese after that.

Many years ago, I brought some rennet with me to make my own cottage cheese (it's really not that difficult). A fellow with a dairy farm happened to visit our house once. When he heard I had the rennet, he asked if he could have it and promised to make cottage cheese and share it with me; I never saw or heard from him again

Lasagna made with a white sauce (like the one hugekebab linked to) is delicious. Lasagna with ricotta tends to be dry, but bechemal gives lasagna lots of flavor and creaminess, especially if you add plenty of parmesan to the sauce. There are lots of recipes online for lasagna with bechemal sauce.
A block of Parmesan should be easy to find; every EMart seems to have it. If you don't see it in the dairy case, sometimes it's in a refrigerator case in the wine section.

They usually carry ricotta cheese (accept no substitutes!) at the Dandy Grocery - small place to the left as you're entering the Hannam Supermarket (basement of Volvo building) Take exit 3, Hanganjin station (first station east of Itaewon) They also carry mediocre cottage cheese at an exorbitant price.
