|

I've been working at a financially unstable hagwon for nine months and it seems I'll be let go soon, probably in the next month. I am considering starting a new job, but I am only available to work until the end of June.
So, do I need to get a new visa? If so, does this require the same documentation as my original visa including criminal background check, transcripts and so forth? Could you tell me about the release letter needed from my boss? How simple is the visa process done within Korea? Do I have to make a visa run? All and all, do you think it's worthwhile to go through the paperwork for a just three months of work? And are temporary jobs easy to come by?
I have loads of questions. Any help is appreciated. |

I seriously doubt that you will be able to find a position for only 3 months. If that's really all the time you have available, it's probably best to just pack it in and go home. E-2 visas are not issued for a time period of less than a year.
You might be able to convince your boss not to cancel your visa and you could spend 3 months doing illegal private work while still on that visa. But I assume since you are asking this question, you don't really want to do anything illegal. |

The release letter really just states that you on still on good terms with your employer while leaving the contract early. Needs to state the contract dates and is your employers way of saying 'its ok to hire this person somewhere else' so you don't get booted out of the country. |
