| hahahahaa, I'm a girl but I have absolutely no idea what you guys are talking about. My friend was telling me about them and there is "someone" that wants to watch a movie with me. Is DVD bang supposed to be like where people go and do "other stuff" then? |

baow chika wow wow. Usually dvd bang is a place for people to 'bang', but I like to go to them and just watch movies cause I'm an adult who owns her own bang to 'bang' in.
There are no dvd bangs in itaewon proper. any of the surrounding 'dongs' will have them, though.
long live dvd bangs! |

A lot of younger Koreans still live with their parents, so can't "meet up" with their partners at home, and regular visits to love motels would get costly, so they go to DVD Bangs for a couple hours of private time.
These places would make a fortune back home! |

| I would bring a blanket or something to put over the sofas. I am certain if you brought in a UV light you would vomit. Imagine all of the other people that don't use the room to watch normal movies. |

Wouldn't it be smart business to have vinyl sofas? hahahaha
Just use a clorox wipe or some windex. I'm SO opening one of these in NYC when I move back home. Smack in the center of the East Village. |

You're right. It would make a fortune back home. Why aren't there any? There isn't anything illegal about it. They would make MAD cash... |

I don't think you're allowed to charge for screening retail DVDs. I'm pretty sure all of them are illegal. |

| actually there are licencing issues, when you purchase a DVD you only have the rights to personal use and viewing. Charging other people to view the film is illegal without purchasing proper rights (usually involving royality kickbacks to the producing studio), like video rental places had to do (do they still exist?) back in the States and Canada, and I wouldn't be surprised if none of the DVD bangs in Korea have purchased these rights, as that Koreans tend to ignore copyright laws, especially on non-Korean property. However if you attempted to do so in the States you'd be sued in short order. |

Hi There,
What crisdean said!!
Believe it or not DVD's purchased at regular prices are usually for private viewing only and warnings say they are not for public or business use.
Once the law catches up with this country they'll be gone but it will take forever in the meantime enjoy... |

Easy way around that! In the USA, you could just get the ones used for distribution (like what video stores buy). They cost a bit more than the usual ones for private viewing, but you'd still make LOTS of money.
Legally, a DVD bong would probably be treated with the same laws as video rentals. |
