Just started my 2nd year in Korea. think Im onto a good deal, central seoul, seems like good school. Last time I survived something of a nightmare of isolation for the final 4 months but held it out. I was paid my cash a month after I left however as my school had no money. We wrote out another contract with the exact amount I was owed and this was deposited into my bank in January. I was really pleased and relieved although it was 400,000w short. At the time it was good cos i feared not getting anything and I knew hoe people here get done over. My new school contacted my old school so Im sure they mustve spoke well of me to help me get this job. Im just thinking now Im here and in my new job is this extra cash worth pursueing or do I just forget about it and move on. Was so glad to get out of there. What do you reckon?

If it's money that they were supposed to pay you and didn't, by accident or intent, bring it to their attention. As for a receipt of what was deposited and what if any deductions were made.

Possibly they paid you what you were owed and deducted outstanding bills, such as unpaid phone or utilities, health insurance and pension (if you were even here for part of the month when your contract ended these organizations still bill for the entire month as I found out when I finished my contract at my last school).

So, ask them for a statement or summary of the final pay and any deductions made. If they are all above board then leave it as it is. If they have made unfair deductions (whatever those may be), then take them to task and make them explain it.
