|

We have ooooodles of DVD's which we bought in the States but now can't play them. We keep getting 'wrong region' messages.
What can we do??
Should we get a DVD player shipped here to Korea from the States?
Or is there another way we can watch our DVD's? |

| It depends upon the DVD player. There are codes you can enter with the remote that will unlock many players. Do a search on Internet for your player's make/model and also terms such as region, free, codes, unlock. You will usually get a number of places to find if your player has an unlock code. |

Even if it doesn't have an unlock code, you can just as easily buy one of those mini-dvd players that's coded Region 1. I bought one for my cousin so he could take it to Africa. Less than $100, had a lil screen.
Edit: Or, DVDShrink to rip your movie and burn it to a DVD. The backup will be region free. |

| You bought the DVD player here then? Take it to the Hi-Mart or wherever you bought it, ask them to make it "all region". They can--(at least at Ori station they were able to) and it takes a few seconds only. |

Will your DVD player plug into any Korean TV? Or are there different adapters for different regions of DVD players? |
