Hi, living in Yongin; seeminlgy in the sticks; haven't met any fellow foeigners yet to go drink with. I think I may head into Seoul tomorrow to explore the city a little bit. I might feel like a beer or two after my travels. Anyone care to reccomend a decent bar, maybe around Itawoen where one might enjoy a few beers on their lonesome without looking like a wierdo?
I hear a lot of Korean bars are a little anti-social; with groups of people congregating on their own and not generally mixing. I just don't want to stand out too much if I decide to have a few beers. |

It's a toss up between Iteawon and Hongdea.
Iteawon is a bit of a military crowd but a little more international.
Good Bars Wolfhound, 3 Alley Pub, Seoul Pub.
Avoid :The Old Town Seoul- It's just full of aggro white guys who can't even get action in a juicy bar. There's at least 3 fights there a night.
It's like something from a Quintan Tarantino movie. Another bar worth avoiding is The Debeut bar on the hill. Avoid hooker hill save your money for Soi 6. and Walking Street Pattaya.
Hongdea has lots of cool University bars. Unfortunatly Skunk Hell the Korean version of CBGB's closed down I believe Club Spot has taken it's place. |

| Check out BricX in Itaewon, on the street behind the Hamilton Hotel. They've got a nice bar to belly up to, cheap beer on tap (San Mig, Krombacher) and pretty good music. |

Itaewon is the place to go if u by urself..
Pubs like The Seoul Pub, Wolfhound, Sams, Geckos etc are places you can go by urself and start chatting over a game of pool/darts or whatever.. Not so many bars in the Hongdae area that one could feel as comfortable by oneself!
The Seoul Pub was the first bar I went to in Korea and it was nice to get in there and mingle about...even met people from where i was going to be starting teaching a couple of days later- 1 hour from Seoul! |

| If you're from Canada, go to the Rocky Mountain Tavern. (Really, you can go there if you're not from Canada, but it's a Canadian bar, so...) Really friendly bartenders and always a few people by themselves... chill atmosphere. |
