Some people are not impressed with their emplyees using social network sites or emailing their mates at work - maybe it was installed to make you stop doing it and get some work done???

Anyway, my advice is to tell your boss that the passwords have been saved and get him/her to erase the information (while you watch - to be sure) and after this promise him/her you will not play on the internet at work anymore.

Someone has never worked for a public school with 20 hours of desk sitting each week.

OP, change your passwords ASAP, see if a proxy will work, and if not, do some research on the program and how to bypass it/uninstall it.

It might be that your boss wants to read your private info.

I taught at a hagwon were the previous teacher did a midnight run. My boss was always looking through the papers I left on my desk (when I was absent), and I'm sure he was looking at my computer files, too.

Koreans have different ideas about privacy than Westerners. If they pay you, you are a servant/junior in their eyes (and so they feel no compunction to invade your 'privacy').

I'd change my passwords.

Find out the programs root and delete the file. Destroy it or kill the computer.

I always carry my own personal computer to school anyways.
It's a Macbook pro and does circles around all the network security.

Half of the computers at my school are down because the tech has NO computer training and is incompetent.
Good example is hooking an 60" HD plasma (ouch the picture burn in) screen up with RGB and component cables and then wondering why the screen looks "pixelated" major duh. I then show the moron that it was supposed to be used with HDMI at 1920x1080pix @ 72.5Hz.
Why are staff so undertrained to deal with the big expensive items.
I have been using XVGA @ 1080p since the dammed thing was improperly installed. Grr!

Still you really should be working - it's not like you're getting paid or anything.

"Hmm, my employer is paying me to be a teacher, I think instead of planning or studying or even being helpful I shall go flirt with ugly people on facebook, whilst looking at pictures of people I don't know and playing mind numbingly boring flash games. Oh, then i'll go check Dave's and see if anything interesting is going on in the world of 'Korea bashing by foreigners'"[/i]

Yup, i'm the idiot - yet you are the one surfing the internet at work, if you were my employee you would be out the door faster than you could complain about culture differences.

Even my Korean co-teachers spend a lot of time playing on Cyworld or watching videos. There just isn't that much to do a lot of the time.

If your passwords are being logged, you might be interested to know that there are other programs that can record EVERY key you press and all your cursor movements. Google "key logger". Anyone foolish enough to try collecting passwords with something so obvious that you noticed it, is probably not smart enough to install a key logger, but who knows, all they need is one tech to install it for them. Those will basically record everything you do and when your online, forward that data to a server somewhere. In the mean time, they discreetly store it on the target computer. So.... if you boss installed something like that, he could access it any time to see what you've been doing - in quite some detail.

Don't use passwords and such on public computer or on unsecure wifi connections. Same goes for internet cafes. You have no idea who's collecting data. Even if you do connect your own computer to the school's network, if they have someone half intelligent managing the server, they can watch EVERYTHING that you do on the internet. All that data passes through the server and CAN be watched.

Don't believe me? Install any shareware sniffer program on a wifi computer and sit downtown on a park bench and watch all the web pages and passwords that you start accumulating.

But as Bibbitybop said, change your passwords. If you don't have internet at home, do it from a NetCafe. Then don't log into email from work.

All my breaktime on Facebook and Dave's? Definitely not! I'm a good teacher. At most I use the school computers to log into FB no more than 5 minutes per day. (The rest of it I spend at the soju tent across the road or watching internet porn.) Priorities man! Priorities!

Bananaman, you're just a total tool. There is a difference between wasting company time and holding on to your personal information. Is it possible Korea has sunk so low as to hire retards for teachers now? You think your school deserves your email password? Your bank id and password? Your student loan ID password? Your Korean immigration id and password? Your ignorance is almost unfathomable. I guess your momma fed you moonshine.

I'll definitely only be using my iPhone or iPad when I get to Korea when I'm at school. They can keep their lousy PC computers.

I have not been to Korea yet but from what I'm researching the people there seem to be extremely skeptical and untrusting of their teachers.

Other than doing one's job properly, what is a good way to build good will and actual trust among co-workers and superiors? Is it even possible?
