|
|
Hey fellow gamers,
So I bought an xbox recently and was able to get the free month of Gold Membership. It was TRUE BLISS . Unfortunately, the time has ended and I went to buy a code online only to realize after that the region I bought the code for was NOT allowed in Korea.
I can't return the code. Is there an online site to get a code to play xbox live in Korea?
JUST BY CHANCE, anyone know someone I can sell my perfectly good code to?
Thanks for the help,
Ryan |

Tech forum might be better for this.
If you have a Korean Xbox, then you might want to check out
http://www.mspoints.co.kr/
This has all manner of Xbox Live stuff on it. Might need some Korean help, though. |

your xbox , liveid, and xblcode all have to be compatible. so if you have an american xbox, you need american live account, and american xblcode. well maybe, your email doesnt matter, but def the xbox and points have to match. if its an american xb, have someone buy it for you at home and email you the code. if it's korean, just go through the website. sAme thing with points. you get a better deal buying the card than online. |

Actually, your xbox's region doesn't matter, just the region of your Xbox Live ID and the points code you purchase has to match. Unfortunately, once you create a Live ID you can't change the region its tied to. Apparently it has something to do with Microsoft controlling prices/revenue in different regions. |

I have a Korean Xbox but an American Live Account and therefore pay for my XBox Live through this US account. It isn't necessary that the system matches the region where you bought the code from, just that you sign up for XBox live in that region....and yes, you can sign up for an American account while you are in Korea.
What you need to do is sign up for a new gamer tag....and sign up for the country where the code you bought online is from (I assume it's the US, but you need to find out)
I had a similar issue because I had some free gamer points that were for Korea and I couldn't access them through my US Live account, even though I am in Korea...I called Xbox and they told me to sign up a new account for Korea with a different email address and different gamer tag....log in, spend the points and download the content to the hard drive, then just sign out of that account, delete the account, and continue to use the American gamer ID.
At any rate...that may all sound confusing, but you should be able to use that gamer tag by signing up for a live account in that country. |
