Does anyone know of anywhere to learn kumdo? I would prefer a place close to the Hongdae area.

Thanks!

If anyone knows of a place in Bucheon, I'd be interested as well.

Do adults really learn that here? Every time I've passed a Kumdo gym it's only been younger kids in there. It seems like it would be an amazing sport to learn.

There are at least 2 kumdo schools within walking distance from my apartment in Mokdong. Pretty much any mainly residential neighborhood with schoolchildren will have kumdo/taekwondo schools in abundance - it's a matter of finding someone who will train adults.

That said, I think there is one school called Sung Woo Kumdo that has classes for adults - but I've never looked into it fully as I can't really afford it right now. They have a website: http://swkumdo.com/ (in Korean only, I believe). They might have other branch locations outside of Mok-dong, also.

Adults do learn it, and it is a wonderful sport to get into. If you are seeking a place near you, you can contact the Korean Haidong Gumdo association (a Korean friend can look them up on Naver, but here is the site http://www.hdgd.org/

Normally the adult classes are the last ones of the evening, and can sometimes be around 9-10 at night.

My friend trains in the Hongdae area. I'll be seeing him tomorrow at some point so I'll ask him about it and I can get back to you.

He also used to train back home so I'm assuming it isn't some McDojo type of deal. PM me to remind me cause my memory frankly sucks.
