Ok, oddball question perhaps, but is there anywhere that anybody knows of to pick up 3D glasses. I just found out that the monitor to the new laptop my school gave me has some sort of nifty new 3D support for movies and games and I kind want to see what it's all about. Maybe anyone who saw Avatar in 3D would be willing to part with theirs if there isn't an actual place to buy them.
Of course, I'm in the Busan area and rarely make it to Seoul anymore, so if you know a place down here than please let me know. |

I could be wrong about this, but I am pretty sure Avatar uses dual projector technology that can't transfer to a simple monitor.
I checked out google, there seem to be a few different 3D monitor technologies, but Dolby 3D isn't one of them. |

So you mean the red and blue kind wouldn't work? That would be unfortunate. Apparently, what my comp has is a polarizing film over the monitor and 120htz and software for the graphics card that shows a double image from sightly different angles. I looked over at the graphics card website and they offer this ridiculous $200 glasses that are battery powered for some dumb reason. To me, this doesn't sound too different from the typical base 3d concept from the 50's, so I figured I'd give the red and blue lens a shot and see if they work. If not, not the end of the world, and I'm not gonna pay $200 just for some gimmick. |

Far as I know, the battery powered ones open and shut lenses over the eyes quickly to create the 3D effect |

The nVidia website. They lay out what is needed for the 3D stuff and the only missing piece are the glasses. The laptop monitor and graphics card support this nifty future stuff, but the glasses are some silly thing ti a head tracker sensor or something. Like I said, if I gotta pay that mush for these things, then forget it. I just wanted to check it out if the red and blue lens things worked. |

Nah, the red and blue film glasses are history... they may still come inside some cereal packs, or comic books for kids, but their quality isn't very good compared to new technologies. I've never been to a 3D movie ever that uses 3-D red/blue film glasses. Usually the new shades have a sort of tinted hint to them, like the ones used for Avatar. I say "new" even though I remember using those kinds of 3D glasses when I was a kid at expo 86! |

All glasses are three dimensional, otherwise they would fall off your face.
Sorry, I couldn't resist. |

Why don't you just go and buy some red and some blue celefane (spelling?). Then you can make them yourself easy enough. You could even make them look cool . |
