So, I'm finishing up my first year in Korea soonish and am starting to think about how much it will cost to ship back the extra stuff I have bought whilst in Korea. Computer, Clothes etc...
I live in New Zealand. |

Good question.
I'd also be interested in knowing the rates for overland/boat shipping to Canada or Europe. |

48k for 20kg to Canada via surface post.
Other rates and prices are available on the k.post ENGLISH website.

look for the English link

You can't use an M-bag... it is not bulk printed literature.
Scroll down to surface parcels:

North America, Australia and New Zealand are zone 3.
If you are in an different place then the zones are here:

Don't ship a computer unless it is well packaged and you are prepared to have it arrived damaged. It won't survive the trip intact.
Easier to strip out the guts, put them in a small box (the size of your mainboard) and carry them with you.
Get a new case and power supply when you get back.
Personally, I went to the post office, bought some #5 boxes and used those.
Rate from Korea to Canada was 48k for 20kgs. I could pack them the way I wanted to and didn't have to worry.
side note: I did ship some computers this way but I used computer packing boxes with the foam inserts and they made it with just some minor damage to the case. I was however prepared to receive them and repair them if necessary.
Your average desktop weighs in at about 12-14kg. sans monitor.

So, 48,000 Won for 20kg?
That's pretty cheap compared to other countries I've shipped from. |

I've been wondering about this too. Is it possible to ship a suitcase this way? I've heard some people have trouble trying to ship suitcases home. |

Not unless it is small.
Most suitcases are too large to post and it is too expensive to ship them any other way.
The MAXIMUM allowed physical size for postal shipping is 200cm as calculated: (h*2) + (w*2) + L <200cm.
