during the week i teach 20 hours of regular classes and one teachers class.

moreover i have three after school classes a week; two 45 minute and one 60 minute class.

im being paid 20,000won for each after school class-- 60,000won extra a week.

however, my wednesday 45 minute class pushes me to 4:45; meaning im here past my 8 hours a day. my handler said i can come in 15 minutes later on wednesday mornings which is pretty swell of her, and the school has never really treated me poorly....

last semester it was 5 students three times a week for 45 minutes from 330-415... this semester its the hours stated above with TWENTY FIVE kids. HECTIC.

am i getting a rough go, or is this more or less standard across the board...?

It would largely depend on your relationship with your school.

Time to get out YOUR contract and take a stand based on it.

You may be able to make a small fuss then do it "as a favor" to the school but you should ALSO suggest that you WILL ask a favor in future.

Tit for tat and it is an accepted way of doing things here.

why is one of your classes 60 minutes? doesn't GEPIK specify that you get paid OT (20,000 won) per teaching hour?

as for 25 kids, that's not bad, not good either. i think around 15-20 kids in an afterschool is the norm.

overall, it doesn't sound like a bad situation. they could deduct the pay from one of your afterschool classes since you're not teaching your full 22 hours a week. i wouldn't complain to your school about the hours, they just might do that!
