Is it possible to buy an after-market power cord for a N. American laptop that plugs into Korean outlets?

My laptop is a Dell.

Yes.

Seon-in plaza at yongsan, the north (street side) of nanjin arcade at yongsan or any Dell dealer in the I'Park, Terminal, or the Seon-in plaza buildings should have one or can put a new plug on the one you have.

Any place with PC written on them should be able to provide one, right?

There are thousands of them every square metre. The one I dropped by to get my laptop fixed got me a new one for 60,000. Which is a bit steep in my eyes, but the reason my laptop broke in the first place was because I bought one for 10, or 15,000? It frazzled up, even though it said it could go up to 240v.

I ended up paying 150,000 won for repairs and replacement of charger.

Anyway that's another story. Should be everywhere, basically.

In fact, that other guy already answered your question so I don't even know why I'm typing. *goes to watch new lost episode*

If the last poster was right, you might be better off buying off of Ebay... I got a new power cord for my Acer for 9 bucks (free shipping to the RoK)... Slapped a plug adapter onto the end of it (don't need a voltage downstepper) and away I went.

Thanks again.

Found it right away in the main electronics building in Yongsan. It is an after market generic brand but works fine. 30,000 won.
